It was not long before, when a Kerala toy company had created a Taimur Ali Khan-inspired doll, which was reportedly in huge demand! Sharing his dadi, Sharmila Tagore's reaction to the same, a Deccan Chronicle report quoted a source as saying, “She (Sharmila Tagore) was as startled by the emergence of the doll as anyone else. The family is still trying to come to terms with Taimur’s overwhelming popularity. Saif was summoned by his mom (the legendary actress Sharmila Tagore) to discuss the issue. Normally, Sharmilaji is the most non-interfering mother you will find. But now with two-year-old Taimur being constantly in the limelight, she feels some measures must be taken to provide the child a normal life.”
And very recently, at the Cosmo India Blogger’s Award 2019, a whole new tangent of Taimur Ali Khan’s popularity was seen. A Mumbai Mirror report had stated that famous director, Madhur Bhandarkar has registered the title of the movie as he has been smitten by the two-year-old's name. Famous for making films based on reality and the glamour world like, Fashion, Page 3, Calendar Girls, it really makes us wonder if Taimur-inspired movie title is to based on paparazzi and celebrities! Speaking about the Taimur Ali Khan inspired toy which became immensely popular, Saif Ali Khan spoke about it with Hindustan Times. Expressing his concern, the doting daddy had said, “Maybe I should trademark his name…The least they could do is send me one! I am glad people are benefiting from him. I only ask God for his safety and happiness in return.”
In an interview to Mumbai Mirror, Kareena Kapoor Khan expressed her concern about son, Taimur Ali Khan’s popularity and had said, “Taimur can’t run away from his popularity and neither can his parents. When I saw the doll, I wondered what was I supposed to say. But Saif pointed out that it is because people love him so much and such things are a blessing for him. There is so much genuine warmth for our son that it’s bad to stop people from clicking his pictures or making his dolls. But, they should understand that he is a two-year-old child and needs a normal life. Both Saif and I are struggling to give him that and will continue to do so without telling the media to back off, no matter how annoying it gets after a point. It’s tough on him as it’s on Saif and me.”
Saif Ali Khan too once, talked about the constant media attention their son, Taimur Ali Khan is getting, and had shared, “It would be a little arrogant to hide him. The press- they only want a picture, because people are interested in what this kid is like. It’s fine, it’s not such a big deal. You go to the airport and they take your picture.” He further added, “They’re not chasing your car or doing anything. He will grow up to understand that his parents are quite down to earth and are privileged people. He will not get away with certain comments and remarks in front of us.
