While Tabu and Nagarjuna are collaborating on a movie again, exactly 28 years after their first collaboration, it marks a special occasion: the actor's 100th movie, which has been primarily titled King 100.

While Tabu and Nagarjuna are one of the much-loved on-screen pairs, their personal life also grabbed a lot of attention, as speculations were rife that they had something romantic going on. To add, this topic grabbed much attention because Nagarjuna was married to Amala back then, which was his second marriage. Speculations were rife that Tabu wanted a stable relationship, to which already-married Nagarjuna couldn't commit. Speculations were that Tabu and Nagarjuna dated for 10 years in total, after which they parted ways.
Tabu talked about her relationship with Nagarjuna
While speculations were rife, the duo never confirmed their relationship. It was in 2007 that Tabu talked about her relationship with Nagarjuna. While being on Koffee With Karan, Tabu was asked about what kind of relationship she had with Nagarjuna. To this, the actress revealed that while the topic is old and people want to know whether Nagarjuna was her boyfriend or not, she wanted to assert that friends could come and go, but Nagarjuna was someone who would remain.
Tabu further mentioned that she didn't know what to say about the buzz around them, but Nagarjuna was one of the closest people in her life, and they had one of the most important relationships, which is really dear to her. Tabu said that she didn't have any label for her relationship with Nagarjuna, and there's absolutely nothing that could possibly change what she had for him. She could be quoted as saying:
“This Nagarjuna story is very old. It keeps coming back. I always wonder, it feels like the media wants to give this expression that whether I have boyfriends or not, boyfriends come boyfriends go but Nagarjuna remains. I don’t know what to say about it except that he is one of the closest people in my life. He is one of the most important relationships I have. My relationship with him is very dear to me. Also, that nothing can ever alter or change my relationship with him. I don’t have a label for it. I can’t do anything about it."
Nagarjuna also spoke about his relationship with Tabu. In an interview with TOI, Nagarjuna revealed that Tabu is a beautiful person and a wonderful friend. Nagarjuna went on to reveal that his and Tabu's relationship started when he was 21 years old, and she was 16 years old. As per Nagarjuna, their friendship lasted for half a lifetime, and he also added that he had nothing to conceal about his and Tabu's friendship. According to Nagarjuna, whenever Tabu's name was mentioned, his face just lit up. While speculation was rife that they were a couple off-screen as well, Nagarjuna seemed unbothered by it and said that, while people may interpret his words about Tabu differently, she is just a cherished friend of his.
