In an interview with film critic, Rajeev Masand, Sushmita had revealed that Rohman had sent her a DM on Instagram which she had accidentally opened. She found his emotions to be extremely truthful and the words written with utmost honesty. That was the beginning of their beautiful love story.
On December 12, 2019, Sushmita took to her Instagram handle and shared a beautiful video. In the video her beau, Rohman Shawl was singing Enrique Iglesias’ famous love song, 'Hero' and her daughter, Renee joined him. Rohman and Renee did complete justice to the song and looked immersed in their performance. Along with the video, Sushmita posted a beautiful message which could be read as “Let me be your hero baby” ABSOLUTELY!!! On November 19, 2019, Sushmita Sen had celebrated her 44th birthday and Rohman Shawl had made sure to make his ladylove’s day even more special when he had penned down the most emotional lines for her. Rohman had taken to his Instagram handle and sharing a candid picture of Sushmita, he had written, "Just as the rising sun brings light to the world, you, my love, bring light to my life! Truth be told, I wanted to write paragraphs about you on this special day, but hey, when I think about you I am just as awestruck and speechless as I was when I saw you sitting there while taking this picture! Coming back to their beautiful love story, Sushmita in an interview with Rajeev Masand for the talk show, Women We Love, had revealed her beautiful love story and had stated that Rohman had sent her a direct message on Instagram and being a celebrity, she was not sure whether direct messages are to be checked or not as according to her it would allow the person to start a communication. She had also retorted that she had many direct messages in her inbox and she didn’t open any of them.
