Sushant Singh Rajput and his Pavitra Rishta co-star, Ankita Lokhande’s relationship was loved by all. While we were waiting for their wedding bells to ring, news all over had it that Sushant and Ankita have called it quits, until the couple themselves confirmed the same. While there were many reasons which their fans speculated, one of them was Sushant’s growing closeness with his Raabta co-star, Kriti Sanon. This was supported by a series of candid photographs and birthday wishes for each other. While rumour mills had just started to churn Sushant and Kriti’s dating news, it was soon reported that the duo too, have broken up.
Not much was heard about the both of them, until a few hours back, Sushant took to his Instagram handle and posted a heartfelt wish for his once rumoured muse, for her upcoming release, Luka Chuppi, which clashes with his own release, Sonchiriya on March 01, 2019. Sharing a poster of Kriti’s film, the actor wrote in Hindi dialect, “Aur hamaare priy mitro ki film, "Luka Chuppi’ bhi release ho rahee hai 1 marchh ko. Unki film ekdam superhit ho, ye dil se kaamna karte hai #dineshvijan @kritisanon @kartikaaryan @maddockfilms.” While we will share a screenshot of the same, do you know what the Shudh Desi Romance actor shared about their (two rumoured ex’s) film’s clash? He stated, “Clash? There is no clash. It's not like in one theatre we'll have both the films playing on two walls.”
Speaking about her and Sushant’s alleged relationship and breakup in a recent interview, the Dilwale actress shared, “Maine bhi bahot kuch padha hai, it's like a daily soap." She further added, “Sushant and I are friends and we recently recently met at Dino's [Dinesh Vijan] wedding. I'm fond of him and we are really good friends. It's always going to be like that." Speaking to IANS earlier about her dating rumours with Sushant, the 28-year-old actress had shared, "It happens every time you work with someone but I clarified what I had to online. Beyond that, I have nothing more to say. I really don't know what to say. It is the easiest thing to assume. I said what I wanted to. It reached a point where families started getting involved which was a little nasty."
Sushant too, had spoken about their linkup rumours with Kriti and stated, “I read about this thing between us, then there were stories about a fight and a break-up and then suddenly, probably because of the Maserati we were back together. They are all very interesting but untrue. We are good friends. She's an engineer and I was studying to be one too before I dropped out. We’re both from Delhi, big foodies and like spending time together. Period."
Kriti had also remarked, “It doesn't affect our relationship. I don't see a reason to justify my relationship with Sushant. We know what the truth is. Over a period of time, I have realised that link-ups with co-stars are part and parcel of the industry. I have made peace with it. We often read stuff about us that's completely baseless. We have always taken it in our stride."
Speaking to a leading daily in a last year’s interview, Kriti shared about her idea of a love marriage and an arranged marriage. Therein, she was quoted as saying, “I’m someone who can’t understand the logic of arranged marriages. For me, to be married to someone, it would mean that I am at least committing to live my whole life with that person, so I need to be madly in love with him first. Otherwise, I think having a family is just a beautiful commitment. There are marriages that last a lifetime and you see these old couples holding hands, still in love — it’s inspiring.
