Talk about the family values or relationship goals, the Bachchans have always been ahead in the race. And what has garnered a lot of appreciation all this while has been the relationship of the saas-bahu of the family i.e., Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
A throwback interview of Jaya Bachchan with People’s Magazine in 2008 is going viral again. In that interview Jaya ji was at her candid best, she was all-praises for her children, Abhishek Bachchan and Shweta Bachchan Nanda along with her bahu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Not just this, she also cunningly shared the reason behind Abhishek and Karisma’s broken engagement. On being questioned that she is not an easily forgiving person, Jaya ji had said, “I agree with you. But if you reason with me, I am a very forgiving person. I am an honest person, I do not have needs in life, I can be happy anywhere. And I hope and think I have brought my children up with the right values. I keep telling my son every single day, it doesn't matter if a film does well or not. What matters is a light boy saying 30 years later, 'It was such a pleasure working with you.”
Further, when she was probed to tell if these were the values, she wanted her daughter-in-law to rub off, she was all-praises for Aishwarya and said, “Yes. On this note, she was further asked if Abhishek Bachchan’s marriage plans with Karisma didn’t workout because of one of these reasons. To this, Jaya ji said, “She has the blood and genes of the Kapoors. They have the tradition. Her father and I were buddies, they had good relations with my husband. In a media interaction earlier, Jaya publicly complimented her beloved daughter-in-law's skills as a mother. She even went on to call her a “hands-on mom” and stated, "Sometimes I tease Aishwarya and I say Aaradhya is a very lucky girl because can you imagine having a nurse like Miss World Aishwarya?!" In fact, on a famous chat show, Koffee With Karan hosted by Karan Johar, Jaya expressed her happiness on welcoming Aishwarya as her daughter-in-law.
She had said, "She is lovely. I love her. I have always loved her. I have never ever seen her push herself whenever we are all together. I like that quality of hers to stand behind. She is quiet. She listens and she is taking it all in. And another beautiful thing is that she has fitted in so well in the family. She knows who our good friends are."
