Popularly known as Hansa Parekh from the show, Khichdi, Supriya Pathak is one of the most versatile actors of Bollywood. Daughter of Baldev Pathak and veteran actress, Dina Pathak, Supriya had forayed into acting through theatre. With her debut film, Kalyug, Supriya won her first Filmfare Award for Supporting Actress. Not many people know that Supriya had shared the screen with Hugh Grant for a French film, La Nuit Bengali (The Bengali Night) released in 1988.
She had met Pankaj Kapur during the shooting of their unreleased film, Agla Mausam. When Pankaj and Supriya had met, the two were recovering from their respective failed marriages. It was their love for cinema and theatre that brought them close. After two years of courtship, Supriya married Pankaj in 1988. She had become a mother to Pankaj Kapur and Neelima Azeem's son, Shahid Kapoor. Supriya and Pankaj had welcomed their kids, Sanah Kapur in 1990 and Ruhaan Kapur in 1994.

In an interview with The Indian Express, Supriya talked about her stepson, Shahid Kapoor's bond with her kids, Sanah and Ruhaan. Calling Shahid the 'main anchor' of their family, Supriya said, "Of course! Shahid is their brother. He is their elder brother bhai! He is an integral part of the family. He is our main anchor. It is natural. They are siblings. So, they are constantly around each other. They are like any other siblings. We are a normal family."
Supriya further showered praises on her daughter-in-law, Mira Rajput Kapoor and revealed how she loves the food cooked by Mira. In her words, "She is a great cook. She makes lovely appam and stew and Khao Suey. So yes, I have tasted her haath ka khaana (food she made). But sadly, I don’t know how to click photos and I do not have an Instagram profile, so I cannot share with you guys. But she makes amazing food."

Mira Rajput shares a great bond with her mother-in-law, Supria Pathak. We have often seen how Mira uses the quotes from Supriya's cult show, Khichdi. A few days back, Mira had cracked a Khichdi joke for the food made by her saasu maa. Taking to her IG stories, Mira had shared a picture of a mouth-watering Gujarati thali made by Supriya and had cracked a pun. Atop the picture, she had written, “Not-a-Khichdi by Hansa” and “Saras Gujju thali, Supriya ben”, leaving us in awe of this saas-bahu bond.
Pankaj Kapur’s first wife, Neliima Azeem and second wife, Supriya Pathak, along with their children, Shahid Kapoor, Sanah Kapur, Ruhaan Kapur, Ishaan Khatter are a perfect example of a modern family, who are on cordial terms with each other. Mira Rajput Kapoor had beautifully gelled up with the Kapoors and had gotten the entire family together.
