It's raining good news in Indian Skipper, Sunil Chhetri's house, as he and his wife, Sonam Bhattacharya, have welcomed a baby boy into their lives. Yes, you heard that right! The duo is blessed with their first child, and they couldn't be happier! Though Sunil and Sonam haven't made any official announcement of their happiness, reports are rife that they have become parents for the first time.
According to a report in the news outlet, ABP, Sunil Chhetri's wife, Sonam Bhattacharya gave birth to a baby boy on August 30, 2023, in a hospital in Bengaluru. The report further added that both the newborn and the mother are doing good and are healthy. However, more details about Sonam's delivery are yet to be known.

It was on June 12, 2023, that Sunil Chhetri, on his 86th goal for India against Vanuatu in the International Cup, announced his wife, Sonam's pregnancy. To mark the big moment for his team; the Blue Tigers, Sunil was seen tucking the ball inside his jersey and walking towards the side of the stadium. When the camera panned, his wife, Sonam was standing and cheering towards him from the stands.
While fans were unable to guess what Sunil was trying to show, the footballer was seen cradling the football tucked underneath his shirt and blowing kisses towards his wife, Sonam. Soon, fans realised that Sunil was hinting at their good news and the way he announced that the couple was expecting was unmissable. Dressed in a green-hued frock, Sonam radiated her pregnancy glow, and the people inside the stadium cheered for her.

For the unversed, Sunil Chhetri tied the knot with his ladylove, Sonam Bhattacharya, on December 4, 2017, in a grand wedding ceremony in Kolkata. For the wedding, Sunil was dressed in traditional Nepali attire topped with a topi, whereas his then-bride, Sonam looked stunning in a red Bengali attire. And now, they have finally hopped on to their parenthood journey, and their fans couldn't be happier!
