Indian national football team's captain, Sunil Chhetri is currently enjoying every moment of his parenthood journey along with his darling wife, Sonam Bhattacharya and their son, Dhruv. Now, the doting parents revealed their baby boy's face in a few exclusive photos from Dhruv's rice ceremony, and we are in awe of it. For the unversed, it was on December 4, 2017, when Sunil and Sonam tied the knot in a grand wedding ceremony in Kolkata. For the wedding, while Sunil was dressed in traditional Nepali attire, Sonam turned into a Bengali bride. Afterwards, on August 30, 2023, in a hospital in Bengaluru, Sonam gave birth to their baby boy, and the doting parents named their firstborn Dhruv.
On March 27, 2024, Sunil Chhetri and his darling wife, Sonam Bhattacharya hosted an intimate Annaprashan ceremony for their son, Dhruv. For the Bengali families, the ceremony is considered a significant milestone in a baby's life as on this day, the little one eats the first solid food, especially rice. Thus, we got some of the EXCLUSIVE photos of Sunil's son, Dhruv, clicked by their loved ones. For one of the looks of the event, the baby boy was decked up in a blue kurta with white pants and looked absolutely adorable.

In the EXCLUSIVE photos from Sunil's son, Dhruv's rice ceremony, the entire venue was spotted being decorated with kites, balloons and other decorative items. For the second look of the rice ceremony, Dhruv was seen wearing a red-coloured dhoti with a golden border paired with a matching kurta. A flower garland was also seen on his neck, and it seems that the picture was clicked right after the ritual. Sonam was seen carrying Dhruv in her arms while happily posing for the lens along with other close relatives.
It was when Sunil had scored his 86th goal for India against Vanuatu in the International Cup in 2023, he announced his wife, Sonam's pregnancy in an unique manner. The match took place at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneshwar, Orissa, on June 12, 2003. Following the glorific win, Sunil was seen putting the ball inside his jersey shirt and walking towards the side of the stadium's gallery, wherein his wife was cheering for him. Soon, Sunil was seen cradling the football underneath his shirt and blowing kisses towards his wife, Sonam. The moment was treasurable, and this is how he announced their 'good news'. Moreover, Sonam's maternity glow was unmissable.

Earlier, in a conversation with the Humans of Bombay, Sunil had revealed his love story with his wife, Sonam. He revealed how his coach, Subrata Bhattacharya’s daughter, Sonam approached him by stealing his number from her dad’s phone. At that time, he was only 18, and Sonam was 15. Afterwards, they started talking over the phone and formed a beautiful bond. However, he asked her to stop this after some time because he feared losing his career. Following this, a few months passed, and Sunil couldn't get her out of his mind. So he texted her back, and over the years, their love and bonding grew for each other, and the rest became history.
