Suneel Darshan is one of the most eminent filmmakers in Bollywood. He has been credited for the creation of some of the iconic Hindi films in the 90s and early 2000s, including the likes of Lootere, Barsaat, Mela, Shakalaka Boom Boom, Andaaz among others. It is quite evident from his impressive filmography that Suneel has worked on a number of films with Sunny Deol, who has portrayed protagonists in more than half of them. And now, the filmmaker made a shocking revelation about Sunny, where he revealed that the latter owes him a whopping sum of money for the past 27 years.
In a recent interview with Dainik Bhaskar, popular filmmaker, Suneel Darshan made a shocking revelation about Sunny Deol. He revealed how it all began in 1996 when Sunny asked for the distribution rights of the film, Ajay from him, as he wanted to start his own film distribution company in London. Thereafter, Sunny allegedly got the papers of the film signed by Suneel and promised to pay him the remaining amount as and when he would get the prints of the film. However, he didn’t pay him eventually, and in response to his frequent requests, started to call him across various cities. He mentioned:
“He asked for my help in the production of a film that he was working on. He said he'd do a film with me and adjust the dues in my payment after the film was completed. I had already done two films with Sunny and I believed him. Neither was the film completed, nor did I get any money. I ran after Sunny Deol for four years and he had some hits as well as some flops during that time. It was wrong, therefore I approached the court.”

Moving further in his revelation, Suneel added how Sunny has always cited personal problems responsible for his non-payment of dues. Moreover, even during the court case, that has been going on for more than 27 years now, Sunny claimed that he didn’t have the exact amount of money, and promised to do a film with him in place of it. Revealing how Sunny Deol has never actually intended to pay him his dues, Suneel concluded:
“In the court, Sunny claimed he did not have the money to give me and promised to do a film with me. Then, he would ask for changes in the script or claim a lack of dates and never completed the film. Basically, he never intended to pay my money. It has been almost 27 years and I am still running around in circles for the court case. I tried my best for an outside-court settlement but it could not happen. This man is not even ready to respect the court's verdict. The established amount (that Sunny needs to pay him) is Rs. 77,25,000.”

In one of his earlier interviews with Zoom, Sunny Deol reacted to the previous buzz about his home in Juhu getting auctioned, being blown out of proportions by the media. The actor expressed his dissatisfaction over the same, and highlighted how an issue personal to him could bother everyone in such an exaggerated manner. He added that the money and property that he has is both due to the hard earned efforts of him and his father, Dharmendra, and it was surely a huge disrespect for anyone to claim falsely over it.
