It was on June 3, 2020, when Sumeet Vyas and Ekta Kaul had embraced parenthood and had welcomed their son, Ved Vyas. On July 12, 2020, the doting couple had shared the picture of their son with his mommy. While Sumeet had captioned it, "Mama’s boy... #ved #vedvyas", Ekta had written, "Being a mother isn’t an easy job but it’s definitely the best job one could ever have... And there’s no greater honour, love and blessing. #maahood #merabeta #ved."
On September 4, 2020, Sumeet took to his IG handle and shared a video with Ved. In the video, Sumeet was seen goofing up with his junior. Sumeet was seen kissing Ved while whistling to grab his attention, the little munchkin was lost in his own dreamy world, ignoring his daddy’s antics. Sumeet captioned the video as “#explosive #content #vedvyas.”
On June 25, 2020, Sumeet had shared a glimpse of Ved with his mother, Ekta. In the picture, we could see him sleeping peacefully in his mommy's arms. The actor had penned an adorable note, which could be read as "Don’t think I can ever take any credit if he turns out to be Awesome. I’m sure he will, coz she definitely is the most Awesome Mommy I’ve seen, after mine. They’re already a team and I’m just a comic relief in their routine." In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Sumeet had talked about the journey of parenthood and had said, "So far, it has been good and lovely. My wife Ekta (Kaul) and I, are discovering something new every day. I’m still quite clueless and so is she. We don’t know what the baby really wants when he cries."
To announce the news of his baby boy’s arrival on June 4, 2020, Sumeet had posted, “It’s a boy. Shall be called Ved. Mamma and Daddy are acting cliche...smothering the child every few minutes.” When asked, in the same interview, why he had announced the baby’s arrival a day later, Sumeet had retorted, “It had been a long day and we needed rest. I didn’t want too much buzzing around my baby.”
In an interview with Mumbai Mirror, post the birth of his firstborn, Sumeet Vyas had revealed why they have named their son, Ved. Narrating the story behind it, Sumeet had said, “Long ago, one of our relatives was having a child and we were discussing names, when Ved came up and stayed with me. I decided if I have a boy, I’ll name him Ved. Since we come from the line of, it makes sense.” Describing the emotions on becoming a father, Sumeet had expressed his ‘unmatched feeling’, “You do all those clichéd things that you once laughed at. Humans are so predictable.” Revealing that it was a normal delivery, Sumeet had continued, "We couldn’t trust a multi-facility hospital at a time like this.
