Recipient of four National Film Awards, four Kerala State Film Awards, two Tamil Nadu State Awards, seven Filmfare Awards and ten Filmfare Awards South, Shreya Ghoshal is one of the leading playback singers of Indian cinema. Shreya had made her debut in Bollywood playback singing with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Devdas, since then, there was no looking back for this soulful singer. Shreya had gotten married to her childhood sweetheart, Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya on February 5, 2015, in a traditional Bengali ceremony in the presence of her close friends and family. She had shared the news of her marriage on her Twitter handle and her tweet could be read as "Married the love of my life yesterday night (5th Feb) in a beautiful Bengali traditional wedding in presence of our families and closest friends. Shiladitya and I both seek your good wishes in this exciting new phase of our lives!"
Today, i.e., March 12, 2021, Shreya turned a year older and we stumbled upon a throwback interview, where she talked about her proposal story. On the chat show, Yaar Mera Superstar 2 on Zoom, Shreya had recalled how her then-beau, Shiladitya had proposed her. Reminiscing the beautiful moment, Shreya had revealed that the two had gone to Goa to attend a friend’s wedding and she had no idea about the proposal. Sharing details about the same, Shreya had stated, “I remember just to get the ring box out, he said 'squirrel'. I was like a fool and kept looking 'where is the squirrel?'” When asked whether Shiladitya had sang for her while proposing, Shreya had revealed, “He sings pretty decent, but I don't let him sing.”
On February 5, 2021, Shreya and Shiladitya had completed six years of marital bliss. To wish her hubby, Shreya had taken to her IG handle and had wished him with some adorable pictures. Along with the pictures, she had written, “Happy 6th anniversary to us #Shreyaditya. Every time you walk in to the room, I still get butterflies. On March 4, 20121, Shreya had announced the happiest news of her life. After 6 years of marital bliss, Shreya and her hubby, Shiladitya are expecting their first child together. Taking to her IG handle, Shreya had posted a picture, where she could be seen wearing a blue dress, holding her baby bump and looking at it with utmost love. Sharing the picture, she had shared that she is excited to start this new chapter in her life. She had written, “Baby #Shreyaditya is on its way! @shiladitya and me are thrilled to share this news with you all. Need all your love and blessings as we prepare ourselves for this new chapter in our lives.”
In an interview with ETimes, Shreya had talked about her pregnancy and how her husband, Shiladitya has been taking care of her. She had said, “I am absolutely over the moon! We are grateful to the almighty for blessing us. I have always heard from friends and family members what a miraculous thing it is to feel a life growing within you, and now I am getting to experience it. Motherhood is among the most precious gifts a woman can cherish.” She had further added, “Shiladitya has been taking care of my health, mood swings and cravings. We wanted to plan this for a long time, but it's only now that we finally got a break from our crazy work schedules to give it the right amount of focus and love.
