Bollywood diva, Shilpa Shetty Kundra had gone through one of the toughest phases of her life in 2021, after her husband, Raj Kundra's arrest. For the unversed, Raj was arrested in July by the Mumbai Police for his alleged involvement in pornography. It was alleged that Raj was the key conspirator in creating and publishing pornographic content through various apps.
Though Raj was granted bail in September 2021, it was Shilpa, who was at the receiving end. From facing merciless trolling on social media to being accused of her involvement in her husband's business, Shilpa had dealt with it all. With any mudslinging, Shilpa had kept mum on the whole issue and maintained her family's dignity.

In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Shilpa Shetty Kundra talked about the difficult time for her family and how she overcame it. Stating how even during the whole fiasco, her kids, Viaan and Samisha were the sole purpose of her life, and she emerged like a phoenix only for them. In her words:
"I have always believed that in life, you have to find a purpose. Even in the chaos, my purpose was my children and will always be them. Stepping out in difficult times, with a brave front, to go back to work was only to show my kids, [especially my son] because he is at an age where he understands things."
A few days after Raj Kundra's arrest, Shilpa Shetty Kundra was spotted on the sets, fulfilling her work commitments. The actress was trolled mercilessly for the same, but she did not let anything hamper her professional commitments. Revealing that she wanted to set an example, especially for her son, Viaan, Shilpa continued:
"I wanted to show Viaan that even in difficult circumstances, you have to have work ethics, and have to rise like a phoenix. He has learnt through me, and I hope I am able to give them the values our parents inculcated in us. For me to get out there and start working was teaching my son through practice. You are never prepared for hardships in life. They suddenly hit you, but they make you stronger. I didn’t know I was strong, but it’s a good feeling to know I can combat anything now."

On November 22, 2021, Shilpa and Raj had celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary. On the special occasion, she had posted a collage of some unseen pictures from her wedding with Raj. Along with the picture collage, she had penned an emotional note, which could be read as:
"This moment and day 12 years ago, we made and continue to fulfil a promise; of sharing the good times and bearing the hard times, of trusting in love & God to show us the way… side by side, day by day. 12 years and not counting… Happy Anniversary, Cookie! Here’s to many more rainbows, laughter, milestones, and our prized possessions… our children. Heartfelt gratitude to all our well-wishers, who have been with us through thick and thin."
On the professional front, Shilpa will be next seen in the film, Nikamma!
