Back in the 90s, the diva had created a stir on the silver screen with her sizzling dance moves. And now, Shilpa is back to mesmerise her fans with her power-packed performance in the film, Sukhee. Recently, the diva talked about how the American reality TV show, Big Brother brought a significant change in her career trajectory. For the unversed, Shilpa had participated in Big Brother, in 2007 and she had even emerged as a winner.
In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Shilpa Shetty opened up about winning the American reality TV show, Big Brother. Talking about the same, the actress mentioned that her participation in Big Brother helped her break the perception of others about herself. She stated that earlier, people used to think that she would only do certain kinds of roles, but the fame she got after winning Big Brother gave her a poetic justice. Adding how many actors don't get the kind of adulation she received after her victory, Shilpa said:
"More than films, I was able to break the mould by participating in Big Brother. I think I got poetic justice there. There were many actors with many hit films that have not gotten the kind of fame or reputation that I got worldwide when I won the show."

Further, in the same conversation, Shilpa added that actors get the love of their characters, but Big Brother showered her with adulation for being herself. Mentioning how her life and career trajectory changed after Big Brother, Shilpa said:
"Actors get adulation for characters that they play, but after Big Brother I got the love for being me. That was an absolute game changer for me. My life changed after that."
Shilpa also talked about the impact of Big Brother on her personality. Talking about the same, the actress mentioned that the reality show transformed her into a stronger person. She revealed that earlier, her mother used to travel with her for her shoots because it was her father's condition, but after Big Brother, her reliance on her parents was reduced. Shilpa added that before the reality show, she didn't even have her own credit card, but after that show, she turned into an independent individual.

For the unversed, it was in the year 2007, when Shilpa Shetty participated in Big Brother. During the show, the actress had to go through a tough time when she faced racist remarks from her co-contestant, Jade Goody. However, Shilpa turned all the remarks into a victory when she emerged as the winner of the show.
