And the duo has two adorable kids, Viaan and Samisha. For the unversed, Shilpa is currently on a promotional spree for her upcoming movie, Sukhee. However, recently, Shilpa shared that she was not at all ready to act in the movie, Sukhee, but it was her darling hubby, Raj, who forced her to do so.
During the trailer launch event of Sukhee, Shilpa Shetty revealed that when Sonal Joshi and Vikram Malhotra approached her for the film, she said 'no' to it for some reason. The actress shared that she was not in that state of mind and that she asked the makers to cast someone else in the film. Talking more about the same, Shilpa mentioned that she even suggested two to three names to the makers to cast them in the film, but the makers were determined to cast her only. Talking about the same, Shilpa also shared that Vikram waited for eight long months for the actress to say yes to his film. Elaborating more on the same, Shilpa stated:
"Something had happened because of which I had decided that I won’t be able to do the film. I wasn’t in that state of mind. So I told them that perhaps right now I’m not in that mind space so they should cast someone else. I even suggested two-three names of other actors who could be cast. I won’t name them of course. But it was their goodness and confidence, that they were determined that only I would play the part. Vikram called me and said that whenever I was ready, they would take the film on floors. He adjusted everything and waited for eight months.”

Further in her conversation, Shilpa revealed that the person who convinced her to do the film was none other than her hubby, Raj. The actress shared that Raj read the script when she wasn't at home. When Shilpa told him that she wasn't ready to do the film, Raj convinced her and made her understand why she should do the film. Shilpa stated that her hubby, Raj, forced her to portray her part in the film as there is a ‘Sukhee’ in all of us. Sharing more details about the same, Shilpa shared:
"Raj read the script when I wasn’t home. I had told him that it’s a beautiful film, but I’m not ready for it. When I returned, he told me, ‘Are you crazy?! You have to do this film! He convinced me to take up the film. He forced me to do it and told me there’s a ‘Sukhee’ in all of us. If a man can think that way for a woman-oriented film."
For the unversed, Sukhee will be marking Shilpa Shetty's second release post-pandemic. Along with Shilpa, the movie will feature Kiran Kumar and Kusha Kapila, among others. The movie is all set to be on screens on September 22, 2023, wherein Shilpa will be playing the role of a housewife who breaks her routine to attend a school reunion.
