Sharmila Tagore and Saif Ali Khan are two of the most charismatic actors in Bollywood. With their unmatchable charisma, charm and grace, the mother-son duo has surely enthralled respective generations of audiences, who look up to their works even today. Moreover, apart from being phenomenal actors in their own right, they also hail from a real-life royal family. For the unversed, Sharmila Tagore got married to cricketer, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, who was the erstwhile Nawab of Pataudi in Haryana.
According to the latest report by Filmfare, the talented mother-son duo, Sharmila Tagore and Saif Ali Khan will be making a scintillating appearance in the current season of Koffee With Karan 8. It is noteworthy to highlight that if reports are to be believed, this would be the first time that the veteran actress is appearing on the chat show, along with her son, who has been on the couch a couple of times earlier. While it is not clear what would be the topics which the duo would take up on the course of the show, but nevertheless, one can be sure that the particular episode would promise some high-octane entertainment.

In one of the older interviews with DNA, veteran actress, Sharmila Tagore had opened up about her successful film career and reflected how because of her hectic work commitments, she wasn’t able to be with her son, Saif Ali Khan during his growing-up years. Moreover, she credited one of their neighbour becoming like the second mother to Saif and contributing considerably in his upbringing. In her words:
“I wasn’t there as much for Saif as I was for Soha and Saba as I wasn’t working so much then. I was very busy during Saif’s time and when he was growing up. I was doing double shifts, but I did have the support of my husband and also my neighbour Sunita Goswami, who also happened to be teaching at Saif’s Bohri-run school Saifee Mahal, which was a wonderful school run by Mrs Noorani. She was Saif’s second mother and she and her husband Jatin looked after him a lot. I was there for all his milestones, but I really wasn’t there for his day-to-day work. When the girls were born, I was less busy.”
In many of her interviews, Sharmila Tagore always highlighted how her firstborn, Saif had been a difficult-to-handle child and was every bit a rule breaker. Moreover, she even tagged the latter as a spontaneous child. However, the latter had a very quirky and hilarious response to it once. In one of his interviews with Kusha Kapila, Saif wittily reacted to the wordplay used by his mother to describe him and added whether she meant that he was a mistake by his parents and if his birth was not planned by them.

In a previous interview with the Hindustan Times, Saif Ali Khan retrospected his career span of 30 years in Bollywood and revealed the secret behind the same. In his response, the dashing actor sweetly credited his mommy, Sharmila Tagore’s genes as the sole reason and explained:
“I have my mum's (Sharmila Tagore) young genes so it's a cross between that and a healthy outlook on life. It starts with the thinking and then you are lucky that people treat you as relevant. I'm not particularly hung up on the past or rigid about the way I think and feel about many things."
