Sharmila Tagore Talks About 'Saas Bahu' Bond In An Old Clip, Netizens Compare Her With Jaya Bachchan

The Pataudi family is one of the royal clans in India, which needs no introduction. Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and his wife, Sharmila Tagore gave their kids, Saba Ali Khan Pataudi, Saif Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan, the best upbringing. After the death of her husband, Sharmila became the ultimate grounding force for her family. The actress also shares a warm bond with her bahu, Kareena Kapoor Khan, which is simply unmissable.

Sharmila Tagore's old video talking about the saas-bahu bond goes viral

Back in 2019, Sharmila Tagore was invited on Kareena Kapoor's radio show, What Women Want, wherein she talked about the ideal saas-bahu bond. Now, a Reddit user reshared the video on social media, in which Kareena asked Sharmila about the difference between a daughter and a daughter-in-law. To this, Sharmila said:

"A daughter is someone you have grown up with. So you know her temperament, you know what makes her angry and how to deal with that person. However, when you are meeting your daughter-in-law for the first time, she is already an adult, and you don’t quite know what her temperament is like, so it takes time to gel. The new girl, your daughter-in-law, is coming to your house, so you need to welcome her and make her more comfortable."

Well, not just this, Sharmila also recalled her own time being a new bahu in the Pataudi family and shared that she loved eating fish, while her husband didn't. Moreover, she also mentioned that being a Bengali, she loved eating rice while her in-laws ate rotis. Talking about the kind of adjustments a woman has to make after getting married, Sharmila said:

"I remember when I got married… I am a Bengali, I like my rice. And they were all roti-phulka eating people. I love my fish and Tiger hated fish. You know, that kind of adjustment. They seem very minor but they are not really, in the long run."

Netizens compare Sharmila Tagore with Jaya Bachchan

Soon after, netizens flooded the post's comment section and started lauding Sharmila Tagore for her amazing bond with her daughter-in-law, Kareena Kapoor Khan. However, this beautiful interaction between the saas-bahu duo reminded the netizens about the alleged rivalry between Jaya Bachchan and her daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. The social media users left no stone unturned to slam Jaya for the same and even compared her to Sharmila.

Jaya Bachchan's bond with her daughter-in-law, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shares a very fond relationship with her in-laws in the Bachchan family. Having spent more than sixteen years of marital bliss with her husband, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya has now become more like the daughter of the household. However, apart from everyone else, Aishwarya doesn't seem to share a very special bond with her mom-in-law, Jaya Bachchan, as there is allegedly a tiff between the saas-bahu duo. Though initially, Jaya praised Aishwarya quite often, now she doesn't even make public appearances with her.
