Although reports are rife that the ex-married couple still shares a friendly bond with one another, but in reality, they're far from being friends. Even today, Shaleen and Dalljiet reportedly don't share a cordial bond with each other. Well, no one in their wildest nightmares back in 2009 had imagined that they would see Shaleen and Dalljiet not being on talking terms.

Shalin Bhanot and Dalljiet Kaur had first met with each other on the sets of their show, Kulvadhu. From becoming friends while working on the sets to finally falling in love during the course of their daily soap, Shalin and Dalljiet's love story is straight out of a Bollywood film. However, they never let the media know anything about their love for each other at that moment. After some time when they felt quite secure, the lovebirds announced that they were getting married. It was in 2009 when Shalin and Dalljiet had got married and left their massive fanbase elated.
On November 9, 2013, Shaleen Bhanot and Dalljiet Kaur were blessed with a baby boy, who they had lovingly named Jaydon. The couple's close and loved ones were on cloud nine as they were hoping the best for Shalin and Dalljiet, but everything turned out to be exactly the opposite. Soon reports of them filing for divorce had started floating in the media and what followed was an ugly divorce that left everyone shocked and heartbroken.
When the reports of Shalin Bhanot and Dalljiet Kaur had started making rounds in public, in an interview with The Times Of India, the actress had confirmed that reports of a rift in their marriage were true. In her ground-breaking interview, Dalljiet had shared how Shalin's mother wasn't talking to her after their marriage, as she wasn't happy with the wedding gifts. Recalling the same, she had said:
"Trouble in our marriage started the next day of our wedding, when my mother-in-law stopped talking to me because she wasn't happy with the wedding gifts. Status-wise, we are very different and they always knew about it. My father has three daughters and couldn't afford the kind of wedding they expected."

After Shaleen Bhanot and Dalljiet Kaur had filed for divorce in court, both of them started pointing fingers at each other in public. In an explosive interview with a leading news tabloid, Dalljiet had shockingly revealed how Shalin had forced her not to opt for a Caesarean section delivery. The actress had shared how her husband told her that she wouldn't be a woman enough if she underwent a C-section delivery. Opening up about the same, Dalljiet had stated:
"During pregnancy, I developed severe asthma and was on steroids, which Shaleen doesn't even know. He never accompanied me to the doctor for check-ups. He didn't want me to undergo Caesarean and accused me of influencing the doctor. His argument was that I wouldn't be a woman enough if I went in for C-section."
Further, in the same interview, Dalljiet Kaur had also accused Shalin Bhanot of not accompanying her in taking their baby boy, Jaydon, for the vaccinations. The actress revealed how she had taken care of their son all of her own, as Shalin was not interested in fulfilling his fatherhood duties. Opening more about the same, Dalljiet had said:
"He would claim he was busy though he wasn't working. He doesn't even know when his son took his first steps. He was never there physically, emotionally or financially. He would go missing every night. It was evident from his behaviour that he is involved with other women."

One of the most heartbreaking and controversial allegations that Dalljiet Kaur had made during her ugly divorce period was that Shalin Bhanot abused her physically a couple of times. In a controversial interview with a leading news portal, Dalljiet had recalled the times when Shalin humiliated her physically. Recalling the same and accusing Shalin of committing domestic violence a couple of times during their married life, Dalljiet also shared the abuse, after which she decided to leave Shalin. She had said:
"He pushed me in my father's presence. My thigh was bruised for almost a month. But I forgave him, thinking it takes time for a marriage to work. On another occasion, he twisted my arm in front of his parents. But I finally decided enough was enough, when he came charging towards me while I had Jaydon in my arms. It could have turned fatal for my 40-day-old premature child. That day, I left for my parents' home in Bangalore."
After a lot of ups and downs in the court proceedings, Shalin Bhanot and Dalljiet Kaur decided to part ways on an out-of-court settlement. It was in October 2016, when the couple publicly announced that they were no longer together, which left their massive fanbase in immense pain. Soon after parting ways with Shalin, the actress had shared the details of the same in an interview with a leading news portal and had said:
"No, nothing. It's just a basic lump sum amount he has given me (pauses). But I have no complaints finally. Now, I am feeling free and relieved. Now, I can figure the rest of my life without looking behind my shoulder. But yes, I was deeply disturbed ever since we had an out-of-court settlement. Ab thoda theek lag raha hai."
It's always heartbreaking to see couples parting ways. However, no matter how painful it gets, there's always light at the end of the tunnel.
