Vehement followers of the religious group, Radha Soami Satsang Beas, Kapoor and Rajput families got to know each other there and decided to take their friendship to another level. When Shahid and Mira met each other, they felt an instant connection despite the huge age gap. On July 7, 2015, the two stepped into marital bliss in the presence of their friends and family. On July 7, 2019, 'Shamira' (as their friends fondly call them) complete four years of their wedded life. Shahid took to his official Instagram handle and shared a lovely picture of Mira to mark their anniversary. But do you know there is something really special about that picture? Well, Shahid shared the first ever picture of Mira that he had saved on his phone. Sharing the below snap, he wrote, “Her first picture I saved on my phone. And now almost every second picture has her in it. She is #life. I love you @mira.kapoor thank you for being you.” Take a look:
Mira has also wished him on social media in the morning. She had shared an unseen picture from their wedding and had written, “You make my world and me go round.”
Revealing the details of their first meeting, Shahid had once stated, “Mira and I never dated. We just met three to four times and decided to get married. I was about to start shooting for Udta Punjab when I met first met Mira. I remember I went to her house for the first time and I was in the Tommy zone. It was adventurous of Mira to agree to marry a guy who looked like Tommy. I also remember telling her — 'I am going to colour my hair.' You should have seen her face. She is this 20-something girl coming out of LSR College and she was like 'What?' It is known to many that Shahid and Mira had an arranged marriage. Throwing some light on an arranged marriage from her point of view, Mira had once stated, "Why not (go for an arranged marriage)? You have to meet someone in some way! It worked for us so beautifully because both of us laid our cards in the open in the beginning. We were ourselves. There was a different kind of discovery after marriage but there was no negative surprise. I understood the role I had to take and he (Shahid) understood that he had to become a part of my life. Both of us have given and taken a lot of each other and we have become more wholesome. It’s two halves that make a whole." She had further shared how they are as a couple, "At home, it’s just like any other marriage. We have fights, we get along well, we laugh a lot, we raise our child together, we are best of friends. When we step out, we are two people together taking on the world."
