No matter if it is a love marriage or an arranged one, when the right chord of understanding, trust and compatibility comes into play, everything seems to be perfect. Such is the bond between Bollywood’s once acclaimed chocolate boy, Shahid Kapoor and his wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor. No one had ever thought Shahid would take the arranged marriage route, but as it is said, jodiyan upar se banke aati hain, hence, ShaMira became each other’s for life and beyond. And ever since Mira had married Shahid, there has been constant speculations regarding her debut on the big screen. Remember how confidently she had faced the camera for her first commercial debut in August 2018? Mira herself had unveiled her first-ever television commercial for Olay skincare products, in which she had talked about her experience of being a mother. Or for that matter, the way she had managed to carry herself on television for the first time right after three months into delivering Misha Kapoor. Yes, we are talking about her Koffee with Karan debut! Mira has been quite vocal about her thoughts and she has never felt awkward in front of the camera. Her confidence and indulgence in front of the lens have always sparked the rumours of her entering to the films.
Asked if Mira Rajput Kapoor ever expressed her wish to do movies or if films even excite her, Shahid, in a recent interaction with the Hindustan Times, proclaimed that she “never really expressed any such inclination”. Adding further, he mentioned, “She supports me for what I do, and I will continue to support her for whatever she wants to do.” Not leaving any chance, Shahid went on to praise Mira’s own skill sets and the talents she is bestowed with. The Kabir Singh star remarked, “She is creative and has a great sense of clothes and is very good with food, too. She is well-spoken and well-read. She is also quite good with make-up. I appreciate all those things about her. She has a sense of design when it comes to houses and furniture. Having said that, she is pretty comfortable in front of the camera, too.” (Also Read: Virat Kohli Reveals The Secret Behind Successful Marriage With Anushka And Keeping A Perfect Balance)
In the same interaction, Shahid was also asked if he would like to work with his brother, Ishaan Khatter. To this, the 38-year-old actor stated, “If we like a script, I would be happy to work with him.” Elaborating on working with family, Shahid revealed that it is certainly not as easy as it may sound. “It’s tough enough playing a character, and if you are working with your younger brother, you feel responsible and don’t want that stress of trying to crack a film. It is actually tougher, but like I said, if something interesting comes along, then we will do it.”
Coming back to Shahid and Mira, and her interest in movies, in a media interaction of late, Shahid himself had revealed that it was Mira who boosted him to take up a role as that of Kabir in Kabir Singh. This, in itself, reveals Mira’s understanding of characters. Shahid had informed the India Today, “She was always very optimistic and believed that this is a character I should have in my filmography. We had watched Arjun Reddy together and she loved the director's (Sandeep Reddy Vanga) work and felt that the character had potential. And if we were able to get it right, it'd be a very special character in my life. So, Mira was very happy when she watched the film." Do you have any idea as to how was Shahid and Mira’s first meeting? In an interview with The Times of India earlier, Shahid himself had revealed interesting details of the same by stating, “I remember I went to her house for the first time and I was in the Tommy zone. So, I had a ponytail, drop-crotch track pants and weird shoes on. I recall getting out of the car in this avatar at Mira's farmhouse in Delhi. Her dad came out to welcome his son-in-law to be. He saw how I was dressed, and he surely thought - 'God what is my daughter getting married to.' He barely looked at me, then whispered 'Come inside' and went away.”
On the work front, Shahid Kapoor had recently delivered a blockbuster, Kabir Singh. As of now, he has not officially announced any of his upcoming movies, though if reports are to be believed, he has been approached for Raj Kumar Gupta’s next.
