While most of us remember Shahid Kapoor as the dimpled chocolate boy from Ishq Vishk, not many of us know that he had appeared in the dance troupe in the iconic Bollywood songs, Kahin Aag Lage from Taal and Le Gayi Le Gayi from Dil To Pagal Hai. And the moment we lost our hearts to this star kid, all we could say to him is, ‘Aankhon Me Tera Hi Chehra’! From Ishq Vishk to Kabir Singh, Shahid had come a long way and his professional journey has been an inspiring one. Despite being a star kid, Shahid, son of Pankaj Kapur and Neliima Azeem, had to prove his mettle as an actor at every step of his career. In 2015, Shahid Kapoor had broken a million of hearts when he had announced his #Hitched status with a ‘girl from another world’, Mira Rajput, who is a Delhi University graduate. Shahid and Mira knitted their own sweet happily ever after with two kids, Misha Kapoor and Zain Kapoor. From being ‘self-oriented’ and ‘selfish’ to a ‘family man’, Shahid now considers his personal life i.e., his family to be his priority and tries to take out as much time as he can for his wife and kids. And his 39th birthday was no different.
On February 25, 2020, Shahid Kapoor turned 39 and despite his work commitments, he took out some time to celebrate the special day with his family. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, when Shahid was asked about his birthday plans, he had stated, “I’m celebrating my birthday in Chandigarh by shooting. I might get a little time off once my family is here and I’ll be spending some time with them. It’s a working birthday for me as I’m in the middle of the schedule and I didn’t want to take a break.” And he did celebrate his birthday with his family. In an video surfacing on the internet, we could spot his father, Pankaj Kapur and wife, Mira Rajput Kapoor standing by his side as he cuts his birthday cakes. To wish Shahid, Mira wrote, "Happy birthday to the love of my life" atop the birthday selfie.
Last year when Shahid Kapoor had turned 38, he had spent the day cuddling and goofing around with his lovely better half, Mira Rajput Kapoor. Sharing an array of selfies from their goofy session, Shahid had written, “Vibe!! #happyburdaytome”. Mira had posted a loved-up picture with Shahid and had captioned it with a heartfelt message, which could be read as "Happy Birthday to the love of my life. Thank you for being the most loving husband and friend, for loving me through all my stages and sizes, for spoiling our babies silly with unconditional love and attention, for making sure you remain silly so we can all laugh till our stomachs hurt, for picking me up when I'm down and for tipping me over when you're looking to make a joke." Mira Rajput Kapoor had signed off her birthday message for ‘the love of her life’, Shahid Kapoor, by saying, "To the most hardworking, humble and resilient soul. For the one who has so much love to give, I pray God blesses you with even more."
In an interview with the Hindustan Times, Shahid Kapoor was asked about his fondest birthday memories from childhood. He had reminisced, “My childhood memories of my birthday include some bad behavior on my part. I was quite into gifts. I would grab gifts from the guests and run away with them. My mum would get very embarrassed. She would call me back and ask me to thank them and behave well. But I was very greedy for gifts. That’s something I remember and I hope I can teach my kids to not be like that.”
And revealing if there’s any professional or personal goal that he wants to fulfil as he steps into a new year, Shahid Kapoor had stated, “Being grounded is very important. Success and failure come and go but family is a priority for me. To sustain a career that’s long, you need to stick to the basics and you need to stay connected with yourself as a human being. I feel very fortunate that I’ve two kids and my wife by my side.
