He is a true-blue movie star, who is handsome, supremely talented and kind at heart. One can say he keeps hovering on the headlines and is a complete newsmaker. Many a times it is due to his personal life, and it came as a huge surprise when the news of his marriage came to the forefront. Surprise because of two major factors, A- he was getting married and B- he was tying the knot in an arranged marriage setup with an outsider. Yes, it is none other than the once chocolate boy and now a hot dude, Shahid Kapoor.
On July 7, 2015, all the news channels, print media and online portals had Shahid Kapoor’s marriage as the headline. It was the day when the heartthrob of the B-town, Shahid walked down the aisle with a Delhi-based college girl, Mira Rajput Kapoor. The following year in August 2016, the couple welcomed their first baby, a princess whom they named, Misha Kapoor. And of late, on September 5, 2018, Misha got an elder sibling to play with and it’s her brother, Zain Kapoor. Ever since the little champ is born, Shahid has never ever spotted with both the kids together. All his fans have been dying to see his glimpse with both the kids together in one frame. So, finally, when Shahid was leaving for Singapore to unveil Madame Tussaud’s wax statue, he got clicked by the paps at the airport with Misha and Zain together in one frame along with the boss lady, Mir Rajput Kapoor.
Shahid, as usual, looked dapper in his black and white track pants and trainers avatar along with funky glares. Mira, on the other hand, was spotted wearing an oversized striped shirt in black and white, along with tights, which she paired with a pair of comfortable shoes. But what caught our fancy was little Misha's side sling in the shape of a butterfly. Also, what made us all go ‘awww’ were the two little munchkins. The elated father, Shahid had once opened up about his happiness and excitement on embracing fatherhood once again, and had shared, “Yes, of course. I'm very happy. We just felt like sharing it with everybody. Mira said she wanted to put it out on Instagram, and I thought the photograph was really cute. It was a spontaneous decision and it just happened.”
He had also shared in another interview, “Having a child is the most amazing feeling. And we are fortunate that we are having a second one so soon, so [I am] feeling happy and blessed about that. Family is always a big reason to work even harder. When you come back home to your family [after work], it’s a great feeling.” And had added, “Now, we will have two to deal with so that’s an added responsibility. Till now, we have been parents to only one child but from hereon, it will be about balancing [time and effort]. On the other hand, Mira had once quipped, “There is no one thing as such; the entire process is just so special. Being able to bring a life into this world, feel it grow inside, and being able to connect with the baby before it has actually even arrived is surreal. And this time it’s been so interesting to see how Misha has been through the entire process. She knows there is a baby inside and she says, “Hi Baby!” every day to my tummy.”
For the ones who don’t know, Mira had troubles in her first pregnancy. At that time, she had stated, “I had a tough pregnancy, I went to those 5 months of difficult times to bring my daughter in to this world, in fact both of us together (Shahid Kapoor and she). So now I want to spend every moment that I can with her and I think there is a set of responsibilities around my plate and I feel at my age I have a lot more energy, I have my future ahead of me, so I can finish all of my responsibility and I have nothing in my way. I can raise my daughter; I can be a good wife. Nothing will stop me after that. I love being at home, I love being a mother to my child, I wouldn’t want to spend one hour a day with my child and rush off to work, why did I have her? She is not a puppy; I want to be there for her as a mother.”
In the showbiz world, hardly we find any celeb taking the arrange marriage route. But when Shahid did, it had surprised everyone, and in fact, many hearts of young ladies were shattered upon hearing the news. Talking about the decision of getting married to a girl whom he had met only 3-4 times, Shahid was quoted as saying, “Mira and I never dated. We just met three to four times and decided to get married. I was about to start shooting for Udta Punjab when I met first met Mira. Shahid had further added, “It was adventurous of Mira to agree to marry a guy who looked like Tommy. I also remember telling her — 'I am going to colour my hair.' You should have seen her face. She is this 20-something girl coming out of LSR College and she was like 'What?' And when I told her I am playing a character called Tommy, she said, 'That is not the name of a guy, it is the name of a dog.”
Talking all-praises for her doting husband Shahid, Mira had once told a leading portal, “Shahid is an extremely loving and supportive husband. It comes naturally to him. The smallest things he does make me smile and feel so loved, like when I wake him up in the middle of the night with a foot cramp and he soothes it.” She had further gone on to add, “Or how hands-on he is with Misha and has really made sure she doesn’t feel the lack of my attention and presence, especially in these last few weeks where I can’t pick her up or play very much with her. It’s everything put together. Once in a tête-à-tête with Rajeev Masand and Anupama Chopra, when Shahid was asked which of his movies he would like his kids to watch, he had remarked, “Only cartoons nursery rhymes and all yaar. Something for her some really great animation film or sound of music or something maybe like you know West Side Story or which is exciting for her as a child to watch because you know you like those kinds of things at that age so I rediscover that with her you know rather than giving us something I like really not my idea of watching a movie with my daughter or whatever she likes and learning to enjoy with her you know.”
