Shah Rukh Khan is basking in the glory of his recently released film, Jawan. The film has recorded a massive success at the box office and there has been no end to it. For the unversed, the film stars Deepika Padukone, Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra among others. Recently, the team of ‘Jawan’ hosted the post-release event of the film, and shared various anecdotes during the making of the film.
Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s jodi go back a long way, as they have starred in several films like Om Shanti Om, Chennai Express, Pathaan, Happy New Year among others. However, in Jawan, the duo paired opposite one another in the roles of mother and son. And now, during the post-release event of Jawan, Shah Rukh Khan recalled how he approached Deepika Padukone for the motherly role, when they were shooting for a sizzling romantic dance number, Besharam Rang in Pathaan. Sharing excerpts from a hilarious conversation he had with his manager, Pooja Dadlani over offering Deepika the role, Shah Rukh mentioned:
“So Deepika was doing besharam rang and i am sitting, I will not lie, you can ask, so I look at Pooja and say, yeh maa ka role karegi? She said Shah she loves you too much, she will of course, let me ask. I said, just ask her. And I'll tell you honestly, Pooja must have gone 2 seconds to her and coming back. She said, yeah whenever you say, just tell Atlee sir, I'll come and do it. It was very large hearted of her. I know we are very close to each other, we love each other like family but even then sometimes work and profession comes in your head and heart.”

In the same event, Shah Rukh Khan mentioned how he was able to trick Deepika Padukone to do a full-role in the film, in the name of a cameo. He mentioned that while Deepika, at first, agreed to play a small role in the name of friendship, nevertheless, she was stunned to understand later that she actually played a pivotal role in the film. In his words:
“Deepika feeling the most awkward. Because she feels main toh yeh dosti me chota sa role karne aa gayi thi but between me and Atlee we fooled her and shot a full length film with her, she's not even realised. So, when she saw the film, she was like, 'Oh I am one of the main characters' She didn't even know. She's very awkward sitting here. But thank you Deepika from the bottom of our hearts for being part of this film.”
In an interview with The Week magazine, Deepika Padukone opened up about working with her frequent co-star, Shah Rukh Khan in the film, Jawan. Addressing the buzz about her charging a whopping sum of Rs. 15 crores for the cameo, Deepika, on the contrary, revealed that she didn’t charge anything for her role.

A few days back, the makers of SRK’s film, Jawan released a clip of the superstar, answering various fan questions. During the same, SRK was asked the reason behind doing intense-action-based films lately. To this, he mentioned that he chose to do high-octane films like Pathaan and Jawan, since his own children love to see him perform actions, which are cool for their age.
