Sara Ali Khan has time and again expressed her wish to date her crush, Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety star, Kartik Aaryan. And when her fans actually started to pray silently and hope that Sara and Kartik actually start to date someday, news of her secretly dating her Kedarnath co-star, Sushant Singh Rajput made it to the headlines. On January 21, 2019, Sushant celebrated his 33rd birthday and Sara, who was in Dehradun with her mother, Amrita Singh, had cut her trip short to be with the birthday boy. According to a source quoted by India Today, "She dropped by his apartment at night with a cake, and they went on for dinner together after that. Sushant then dropped Sara home, and they snuck in some quality time together."
But soon after the reports of Sara Ali Khan dating Sushant Singh Rajput started doing the rounds, a close source to Sara revealed the truth and stated, “There is nothing true in these reports, Sushant is only her close friend and they both always stays in touch. But they both are definitely not dating each other.”
Coming back to Sara Ali Khan and her crush, Kartik Aaryan, the grapevine was abuzz that director, Imtiaz Ali has roped in the duo for the sequel of the film of Sara’s father, Love Aaj Kal. When asked about the same, Imtiaz had stated, "I can't reveal now since we haven't announced anything. We are trying to work it out... There's nothing confirmed now but we are working towards a film. On Koffee With Karan, Sara Ali Khan made her debut with father, Saif Ali Khan. Her cute and candid confession about her love for Kartik Aaryan made it to the headlines. At the Lux Golden Rose Awards 2018, journalists questioned Kartik about him being Sara’s crush. To which, a blushing Kartik had replied, “Nahi, date ke liye kahan bola unhone.” He had further stated, “I don’t know what to say to that. All I can say is that she is very pretty and I am looking forward to her film.” Later, Kartik added, "Haan, matlab coffee pina chahunga."
Even Sara Ali Khan’s Simmba co-star, Ranveer Singh played Cupid between them at the Lokmat Most Stylish Awards 2018. As soon as Ranveer spotted Kartik at the event, he decided to play Cupid and introduced him to Sara. Ranveer didn’t stop at just that!
