The power couple of Tollywood, Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya are an epitome of pure love and have been giving major relationship goals to the millennials. They two look adorable with each other and just one look at them makes us drool over their perfect chemistry. They are the perfect exemplars of opposites attract as Samantha is known for her bindaas attitude and an avid social media user, whereas her husband, Chay is completely opposite to her and keeps his personal life out of media glares. But the gorgeous actress was in a relationship earlier before falling in love with Naga and has never talked about her past relationship.
In a throwback interview with a leading Telegu daily, Samantha had talked about her past relationship. During the promotions of the film Mahanati – the biopic on yesteryear actress, Savitri in 2018, Samantha had compared her story with the veteran actress. Drawing a comparison between her ex-boyfriend to Gemini Ganesan’s character in the film, Mahanati she had stated, “Even I would have fallen into such crisis in my personal life like Savitri did. But thankfully I realised it in the beginning and walked out of the relationship as soon as I sensed that it could end up bad. And then I'm blessed to have a person like Naga Chaitanya in my life. He's a gem of everything.” Though she didn’t take her ex-boyfriend’s name but according to rumours, it was an indication of her relationship with actor, Siddharth.
Samantha Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya, who had completed two years of marital bliss had met in 2009 on the sets of Yeh Maaya Chesave. The couple had dated for a while and had a grand wedding on October 6, 2017, first in a traditional South Indian manner followed by a Christian wedding. Their wedding was a star-studded affair attended by the film fraternity of both Bollywood and Tollywood. The two often make their fans go crazy with their mushy pictures and PDAs. On April 23, 2019, Samantha had taken to her Instagram handle and had shared an adorable picture with Naga Chaitanya. In the picture, we could see Samantha dancing her heart out while Naga Chaitanya cutely watches her. The actress had captioned the post as “My quiet husband thought he could live his life peacefully… just slipping by... god said ‘Gotcha’ @chayakkineni.”
In a recent interaction with Famously Filmfare, Naga had said that he felt so blessed to be married to Samantha and had shared, "I think there was a point when we both were single. We hung out more than normal. So, automatically things started building between us. I was also mentally looking to settle down. I always looked forward to having a family. So, all those thoughts started flowing in my head and she was right there in front of me. So, I was like she is a known devil (chuckles). I know all her mischief and I am fine with them."
