Veteran actress, Saira Banu has been making most of her time memorable by sharing fond anecdotes from her and her husband, late Dilip Kumar’s life on her social media handle. For the unversed, the 78-year-old actress recently made her social media debut and has dedicated her profile as a way to preserve many memories of Dilip sahab. From unheard tales from their personal life to Dilip Kumar’s special moments with his colleagues in the film fraternity, Saira Banu has been recalling some very nostalgic memories, that has also kept their fans hooked for more.
Taking to her IG handle on August 9, 2023, Saira Banu shared an iconic photograph, that featured two stalwarts of Indian cinema, Ashok Kumar and Dilip Kumar enjoying a hearty laugh sitting together. However, it was Saira’s elaborated note which caught attention. Recalling the great friendship between the two actors, she mentioned how Dilip sahab would frequently visit Ashok Kumar’s house, along with Raj Kapoor and enjoy food delicacies prepared by his wife, Shobha Devi. Moreover, Saira Banu also revealed how at times, Ashok Kumar would pull Dilip sahab’s legs and jokingly accuse him of flirting with his wife. An excerpt from Saira Banu’s long caption can be read as:
“Ashok Bhaiyya lived close to the Studios those days and Raj and Dilip Sahib were always welcomed in Bhaiyya’s home to savour hot Bhajiyas made by his wife Shoba Bhabhi. Raj Kapoor would often join Sahib and hug him excitedly saying that he's happy to know that he had joined the acting profession. Bhaiyya sometimes arrived while they were having Bhajiyas and demanded that they should play badminton with him. He would chide them jokingly, You come here and flirt with my wife, eat nice Bhajiyas and you don’t want to accompany me in playing badminton.”

In yet another of her social media posts, Saira Banu had recollected a special moment of her life, when Dilip Kumar proposed her for marriage. She revealed how the duo, who had a fondness for rains were walking by the Juhu beach one night, when it suddenly started to rain. As they quickly took shelter in Dilip Kumar’s car, it was then that the actor professed his love for Saira and proposed him for marriage.
On July 11, 2023, Saira Banu had taken to her IG handle and dropped a throwback picture of her husband from his young days, as he played cricket. Along with the picture, Saira mentioned that Dilip sahab was not only a great cricketer himself, but he once also trained her to play a friendly match against Raj Kapoor. She also expressed her happiness by recalling how she was able to bowl out the captain from the opposite team in the match within the first ball itself.

For the unversed, as per the Supreme Court’s latest statement, Dilip Kumar’s bungalow in Pali Hill, Mumbai is all set to be demolished, and would be replaced by a brand new posh multi-stored apartment. Moreover, the highlight of the new property would be a designated space for a museum, built in the memory of Dilip Kumar. And in a recent interview with ETimes, Saira Banu shared her excitement on the same and mentioned:
“As you know, I was completely mad about Dilip Saab, so you can imagine what all I want to keep there. I have everything with me, not just the costumes, but all his personal items, including his writings, books, trophies, and much more that you will discover once the museum is completed."
