Ananya Panday, daughter of Chunky Panday, is one of the popular names in the Hindi film industry at present. She ventured into Bollywood with the 2019 Dharma Production’s film, Student Of The Year 2, but she failed to make an impactful start in the industry. However, after being in the industry for close to five years, Ananya has started getting recognition. Most recently, the actress received much appreciation for her role in the coming-of-age drama, Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. Moreover, it’s not just that Ananya garners attention in the media for her professional feats, but also for her personal life as she has been reportedly dating, Aditya Roy Kapur.
Recently, Ananya’s father, Chunky, opened up about various facets of his daughter’s life during an interview with Lehren. He heaped praise on her for making a name for herself in the industry without anyone’s help and said that if he had not been an actor, Ananya still would have become an actor as she always wanted to become one. Chunky also shared that he has been a nervous father and revealed that he ain’t as paranoid for his daughters as he is for their respective boyfriends.

Moreover, when the actor was asked to share his thoughts about Ananya's relationship with her boyfriend, Aditya Roy Kapur and how often she talks about him, Chunky said that his daughter is free to do whatever she wants. He said that his daughter is 25 years old and he would not dare tell his daughter anything about her relationships. Sharing how Ananya earned more than him, Chunky said:
“I mean it’s fine. I mean, she is 25. She is earning more money than I am right now. So she is free to do what she wants to. How dare I tell her, my 25-year-old daughter, that you have a boyfriend? I mean I can understand, if she was 14 years old or something, I could interfere but no, no.”

Further in the interaction, the interviewer asked about the kind of relationship he shares with his two daughters, Ananya and Rysa, and if they feel free to talk to him. To this, Chunky shared that both his girls are very close to their mother, Bhavana. However, if his daughters ever need something, then he gets a call. Otherwise, Chunky’s wife is the one who is very, very close to their daughters. In his words:
“Both my girls are really close to Bhavana. Whenever they need something then papa gets a call. But otherwise they are very close to their mother. Of course, Bhavana is closer to their age. I am always there when advice is needed.”
During the same conversation, the interviewer asked the actor to recall his proudest moment regarding his daughter, Ananya’s career. After some thought, Chunky said that the proudest moment was when Ananya got her first film offer and decided to do it. He added that his daughter bagged the film on her own and even decided to work on it. Sharing how Ananya also got into colleges at the same time, Chunky revealed:
“The proudest moment was when she got her first film, and she decided to do it. I think they found her a little very young the first time, then she went for the audition and she got the film. She also got into New York and LA colleges, there was pressure on family. I kept her college admission for 6 months, I paid some $500 dollars and kept it, because who knows, it might not have worked out. So that was a proud moment, she got that film on her own.”
