Royal is the word that crosses our mind whenever we think about Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan. They fell in love during the shooting of the film, Tashan and just a year into their relationship, Saif had tattooed Kareena’s name on his forearm. After dating for five years, they took their seven vows on October 16, 2012, and sealed the deal. In a world where second marriages are often considered as a tough nut to crack, the Nawab and his Begum proved everyone wrong with their beautiful bond.
In an interview with Kareena Kapoor on her radio show, What Women Want, Saif opened about marriages and the one thing that has kept his marriage alive. Saif addressed that 'different interests' is what keeps the spark of marriage alive. He further stated that a little bit of freshness is what required in every marriage, repetitiveness and mundane lifestyle is a bit worrying. He also said that the one thing that he learnt from his parent’s marriage is to be committed to each other, no matter whether you are from the same background or not. He also stated that the major thing he learnt from his abba and amma was to respect your partner’s life without trying to have a hold on it.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Kareena had revealed an interesting and unknown fact about her love story with Saif. Kareena had revealed that every time Saif had proposed her, she had said, ‘I don’t know’. She had further revealed that he had told her that they should get married, in Greece as well as in Ladakh and in both the times, her answer was the same. She had stated it was not a ‘no’ but the fact that she doesn’t know him that well to say 'yes'. Kareena had further admitted that marrying Saif was the best decision of her life. The Jawaani Jaaneman actor had revealed in a conversation with The Times of India that it is his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, who is the reason behind their successful marriage. He had stated, “I am very lucky to have her in my life because she also encourages friendships and relationships away from this business. Whether it is cooking, hanging out with friends at home, renting a cottage in whichever country or doing simple things together. It is about valuing the quality time we spend together.”
Earlier, in an interview with Humans of Bombay, Kareena had talked about how love brewed between her and Saif. She had shared, "When I thought I was falling, Saif caught me. I’d met him before, but while we were filming Tashan, something changed. I wore my heart on my sleeve! He was so charming; I fell for him hook, line & sinker. I remember while shooting in Ladakh & Jaisalmer, we’d go on long bike rides for some alone time. We’d enjoy the beauty, have great conversations & just bond!"
In an interview with Filmfare, Kareena Kapoor Khan had commented on not only being relevant but being far away from the rat race, “As a person, I am very comfortable in my space. I have always been content with the choices I made in my career as well as my personal life. I was never aspiring to be someone. I was always working and will keep working towards being the better version of me.
