With just a week left for the summer wedding of Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki actress, Rubina Dilaik and Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka actor, Abhinav Shukla, the preparations are going on in full swing. While Rubina and Abhinav are still juggling between their work and wedding preparations, their fans make sure to show their love to them. Amidst the pre-wedding celebrations going on the sets for Rubina and the couple sharing their nature-friendly wedding invite, now their dreamy venue pictures are out where the wedding will take place. On June 21, 2018, Abhinav and Rubina will walk down the aisle at the famous Woodville Palace of Shimla. A part of the Woodville Palace is the ancestral home of the Jubbal Royal Family. Hailing to the brave clan of Suryavanshi Rajputs, the Jubbal Royal Family lived in the Woodville Palace till 1977.
With its vast rose gardens, lawns and vintage rooms, this venue is quite a hotspot for the destination weddings. Woodville Palace has been a beautiful escape for the Bollywood film shootings including Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Black. Rubina talked about her wedding venue, and stated to Hindustan Times, "To keep the wedding a private affair, we will have the functions in a palace in Shimla, away from the media. Our families will also be more comfortable without the media around. However, we will invite the media and our friends to the reception in Mumbai. I always wanted a fairy tale wedding and wanted to get married in a palace, and I am glad that this dream will come true. It is a privilege and an honour that Raj Kumar Uday Singh said that they would love to host the wedding at the palace. It is a beautiful heritage palace that has stood since the time of the British rule."
Further talking about it, she went on to say, “We have chosen Shimla for various reasons. To begin with, most of our relatives are settled there. However, the prewedding functions will take place in Mumbai and Ludhiana, which Abhinav’s hometown. We are not going in for an elaborate ritual, as for us, what matters most is the saat phere. We both wanted it to be an outdoor affair. Abhinav, being an adventure junkie, wished to exchange vows amidst the mountains, in the lap of nature. Rubina shared if she is having pre-wedding jitters, and revealed, “I am not someone who will have jitters. The idea is to grow old together and know each other better, gradually. I am looking forward to exploring new things with him by my side. I believe that one shouldn’t know everything about his/her partner at one go. Slow discovery of each other lends newness to the relationship and keeps the spark alive.”
On her honeymoon plans, Rubina remarked, "Well, that can happen later. I don’t mind waiting for it, as anticipation adds to the excitement." Groom-to-be Abhinav too opened up about their wedding venue, and retorted to Bollywood Life, “We are getting hitched in this Mahal in Shimla. The traditions will be a mix of Punjabi and Pahadi. We will skip functions/rituals that we feel are unnecessary. Rubina has taken complete charge of the planning. She is imaginative and creative in her planning. Moreover, I cannot match upto her energy level. I told her that I will do all the running about. Rubina shared a picture of her wedding invitation card, and captioned it, "True Love nurtures and nourishes the soul! With this thought we @ashukla09 wanted to gift “a life “ to our friends to mark the beginning of our new journey and thank them for being with us through our thick and thin. The love is not only for people and by people but we both have love for nature as well hence, physically our invite is organic and totally biodegradable ! The cards are made of MDF wood and recycled paper! And Abhinav shared the same following picture, and captioned it, "Thats the best DIY Idea i have ever seen. Plant as a wedding invite ! It grows with time, dont demand much attention either. Only person who could have come up with such an organic, nature friendly and unique idea is @rubinadilaik and many thanks to @keertikelkar @sharadkelkar @surveenchawla and @meghnachitalia @kankotrinvites @dilaiknaina and @rohinidilaik Without you all this task was more difficult then launching a satellite into space."
Rubina opened up about the wedding vows that they will share, and retorted in an interview, "I am feeling neither nervousness nor excitement, as the preparations for the wedding and my ongoing TV show shoot schedules have left me numb (laughs). Coordinating things is very difficult. I have hardly slept for four to five hours a day in the last one-and-a-half months. Abhinav and I have decided to exchange seven vows after the traditional wedding. I have written mine and I hope he has too.”
She further added, “We have kept them secret from each other. Those vows are a new addition to our wedding and I can’t wait for that moment. Abhinav and I will surprise each other. We believe in Indian traditions and have always wanted the whole nine yards, including all the rituals and functions. I am not focusing on the buzz yet. I understand that as both of us are public figures, anything and everything we do is talked about. But we also try to keep our personal lives as low profile as possible.”
