One of the most successful, popular and highest paid actors in the Indian television and film industry, is a tall, handsome and humble human being. We are talking about none another than television’s famous Mr. Bajaj of Kasautii Zindagii Kay, aka Ronit Roy, the guy who broke a million hearts when he got married to his lady love, actress/model Neelam Bose. And, we decided to get the love and wedding story of this glamorous, good looking and deeply in love couple just for you. So, here it goes.
Ronit had been married once before too, and he had a daughter, named Ona, from his first marriage. It did not work out, and his ex-wife and daughter moved to the US. And after a while he met Neelam and the rest was history. For them, it was love at first sight. Cupid had struck his arrow the moment their eyes met and the job was done!
They both dated for three and a half years before they got married. And during their courtship, the two made it a point to take out time for each other. And, on December 25, 2003, the two got married in presence of their family and friends.
The wedding was a huge affair with around 200 guests that included big names from the film fraternity and the television industry. The function was held at The Resort hotel, in Madh Island, Mumbai. Ronit’s brother, Rohit Roy, and his wife, Manasi Joshi, both of whom are also TV actors, made it a point to welcome all the guests personally and that made the event a very informal yet lavish affair.
While Ronit wore an elegant golden designer sherwani with stonework, his beautiful bride Neelam wore a stunning golden designer ghagra choli with swarovski crystals on it and looked stunning. The wedding rituals were performed according to the Arya Samaj rites. It was an early muhurat, and the rites and rituals that started at 5 p.m. were over by 7.30 p.m.
Some well-known faces were present as guests at the wedding celebration. Actress Zarina Wahab with her husband Aditya Pancholi and their daughter Sana were there. So were celebs like Niki Aneja, Rakesh Paul, Apurva Agnihotri and Shilpa Sakhlani, Prem Chopra, Subhash Ghai, Sonu Nigam, Vikas Bhalla, Achint Kaur, Karishma Tanna, Prachi Shah, Ali Asghar, Jayati Bhatia and Deepak Qazir.
Contrary to what the world might think that the two live a very lavish and celebrity-like life, here is what Neelam has to say,
"Our private life isn't the glamorous life that one would imagines from a Bollywood couple. I make him a quick breakfast, and if he spends a half hour with me I am thrilled to be able to share a meal together. At night we light a candle during dinner after I have put the children to bed and try to re-create the romance in our lives. We lead extremely hectic lives under the scrutiny of the media which can be enjoyable and difficult both at the same time. My life revolves around my children and Ronit. I am still in love with my man, my marriage and my relationship. I believe we have weathered some ups and downs, and life has been hectic, but it's also been generally good.''
In Neelam’s words,
“Each day we squeeze time to be together. When he's not filming we like to spend time with the children, having a quiet dinner, or just reading and holding hands. When he is filming, I make it a point to send him a tiffin for his mid-day break each day. I instigate our off time. If I know he has a couple of days break coming up we plan to slip away even to Lonavla. I think we both need to rejuvenate.’’
There is no doubt about the fact that the two are really made for each other, but their journey until now just proves that even second beginnings can be beautiful. And when asked about each another, this is what the two have to say.
Ronit on Neelam,
Neelam is the best woman, best mother, best person.
Neelam on Ronit,
Ronit is wonderful with the children. I believe he is the best human on earth. He's a good listener. Even nonsense things that I gibber off to him he listens to. I hope and pray the same emotion should be inside me as I feel today. I am committed to my husband.
Their most memorable Holiday: The one to Goa they took before they got married. It was a surprise planed for Ronit’s birthday by Neelam.
Their favourite restaurant: Spices, Marriott, Mumbai
Their children: Ona (Ronit’s daughter from his first marriage), Aador, Agasthya Bose
So, here is wishing the beautiful couple a healthy and beautiful life ahead and a blissful marriage forever!
