Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh had first met each other on the sets of the movie, Tujhe Meri Kasam and soon fell in love. Genelia had initially thought that Riteish was full of attitude as he is the son of the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra, she soon released that he was different and the duo had fallen in love soon after they had started shooting together. On February 3, 2019, Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia Deshmukh had completed 7 years of marital bliss and to wish her hubby on the same, Genelia had penned a heartfelt note. Her note could be read as “Every girl has a certain perception of how they would want their life partner to be... I Honestly Didn’t.. I had this most amazing partner who was my bestest friend, who was the shoulder, I always found when I needed to cry and who made me believe that no matter how tough life is, with us being partners we would take it on, in any form, in any way... That’s the man I eventually married and he never ever stopped being the reason for my smile... On Genelia Deshmukh’s birthday, Riteish Deshmukh had posted a black-and-white collage of his beautiful wife and had written, "Life is bliss-when your best friend becomes your life partner. Happy Birthday my darling Baiko @geneliad. You are the strongest mother I know, you are the adhesive that holds our family together. For all the good deeds in this life may god bless you with the same husband in your next.” To which, Genelia had replied, “Mr. Deshmukh you aren’t going anywhere in any lifetime of mine.. Just making it clear... I Love you.”
In an interview with an entertainment portal, Riteish was quoted as saying, “I started dating Genelia when she was 18 years old and I have seen how hard she has worked. When we did our first film, she would shoot in the morning in Hyderabad, fly back to Mumbai, appear for her college exams and come back to the set.” The couple is now blessed with two sons- Rahyl and Riaan. Further speaking about parenthood, Riteish had added, “I have seen her do all that and now I see her as a hands-on mother, it’s so amazing. She teaches me new things every day. Genelia helps me in being a responsible father. I do everything that any father would do for their children, like fetch them from playschool or change their diapers.”
In a throwback 2014 interview with Tribune, the Housefull star spoke beautifully about his wife. He was saying, “She acted with me in my first film. We first became best friends and then midway through the film, we started seeing each other. We were seeing each other for 10 years before we decided to get married in 2012. Genelia and I are one entity. Falling in love with your friend and that becoming your life is the best thing that can happen to a person. I love her energy and her smile."
He had further stated, “She will always put me ahead of herself, which is endearing. We are similar in terms of thinking. We like simple things and are not materialistic. For example, we both would like to go and eat bhelpuri. She initially ignored me and hated me, as I was the CM’s son, thinking that I would be arrogant. My father always taught me that the only thing constant in life is you being who you are; everything around you is temporary, be it power, hits or flops.
