According to sources for News18, when Salman was approached for the role, he had accepted it almost immediately. One reason for this is his long-standing friendship with Riteish. The insider shared, “Salman is the perfect choice for this part because his presence will add star power. He has earlier made memorable cameos in Riteish's films like Lai Bhaari and Ved, and audiences have loved their collaborations.” The source added that the makers plan to create something that would be similarly impactful this time.

For those unaware, Riteish's father, Vilasrao Deshmukh, was a well-known politician. He passed away tragically back in 2012, due to multiple organ failure. Reports suggest that Vilasrao had been suffering from liver cancer for quite some time. And after he was admitted to the hospital, his health began to decline even further. This led him to be put on life support. At the end of the day, Vilasrao could not be saved and died at the age of 67 before his liver could be transplanted. Almost a decade later, in 2024, Riteish opened up about his father's passing in an event where he shared:

"It has been 12 years since my father passed away. Tough twelve years have passed since Saheb left us. Occasionally, the pain surfaces. He always used to shine, and even now, he shines. This shine never fades. He stayed strong so that we, his children, feel the need to stand tall. To stand tall not just for ourselves, but for the responsibilities that come with being his children. Today, although he is not physically present, his love for us is evident, and it burns brightly on this stage."
