And the latest to fall prey to these unabashed trolling is actor, Ranveer Singh after his wife, Deepika Padukone’s name popped up in Bollywood drug nexus. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone are one of the most sought-after couple of the glamour world. From professional to personal life, the power couple has been riding on cloud nine. But when recently, Deepika’s name had emerged in the ongoing drug case which had begun with actor, Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, netizens couldn’t stop venting out their anger. According to media reports, Deepika’s name had popped up after her chats with KWAN talent agency’s employee and her manager, Karishma Prakash, asking for hash had become viral.
The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has issued summons to Deepika on September 23, 2020 and she is expected to appear before the NCB on September 25, 2020. However, her husband, Ranveer Singh is being massively trolled on social media. From memes to mean posts, Ranveer is now bearing the wrath of netizens. While some pointed out that the actor will get plenty of clothes if Deepika is proved guilty, some pointed why Ranveer is always high. Hashtags like #MaalHaiKya, #BoycottBollywoodDruggies, #DeepikaMaalChats, #BollywoodDrugGag are also trending on Twitter. Deepika, who had flown to Goa for Shakun Batra’s untitled film is expected to board a charter plane from Goa to Mumbai. According to the reports of Times Now, the Mumbai Police is asked to provide additional security to the actress, who is expected to give her statement on September 25, 2020. According to sources, after receiving the summons, Deepika had called a 12-member team via video call to seek their advice. As per the reports of Republic TV, the actress is putting the blame on Karishma Prakash and Jaya Saha. The NCB had summoned Deepika’s manager, Karishma Prakash but she had sought time citing the reason of her ill health. She had requested NCB to exempt her till September 25, 2020. Deepika’s name had emerged after a WhatsApp chat from October 2017 had gone viral where the actress had allegedly asked ‘maal’ from a person referred with the initial ‘K’, who had latter been confirmed as her manager, Karishma. The chat had further stated that Karishma had responded to Deepika and had asked her to take it from someone named ‘Amit’, to which the actress had clarified to her manager that she wanted ‘Hash’ and not ‘Weed’. Apart from Deepika, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh and Shraddha Kapoor’s names have also emerged and they are also been summoned for questioning.
