The enchanting world of the Tinseltown is abuzz with celebrities weddings to newfound love creeping from the corner. And in the midst of all this, Sushmita Sen's brother, Rajeev Sen is all set for his Goa wedding with television actress, Charu Asopa. While the two have already been pronounced husband and wife on June 9, 2019, Rajeev and Charu will be tying the knot in an intimate ceremony on June 16, 2019. And while Sushmita wasn't present at the duo's court marriage, she showered her love in the most precious gift that nothing can ever replace. Guess what it is? Well, She had designed the ensemble for her bhai and bhabhi for their big day.
Ever since, we heard the wedding news of the two, we are glued to our Instagram feed, in the hope of seeing new pictures of the bride and groom. And it is Rajeev, who turned our prayers into reality as he shared a mushy picture with Charu right before their engagement. Yes, on June 14, 2019, Rajeev took to his Instagram handle and posted a picture with his wife-to-be. He captioned the picture as, "Truly madly deeply yours @asopacharu #engagementday #rajakibittu pic credit @chintanasopa". However, it looks like Charu cannot wait for the engagement as she instantly commented, "Babie get ready for engagement". Take a look at the picture and her comment below:
For those who don't know, a couple of days ago, Rajeev had confirmed that her sister, Sushmita had designed the outfits for their court wedding. He had even shared a hand-written note of the Bollywood diva, and it could be read as, "Dear Charu and Rajeev, Congratulations on your wedding day! May God bless your union and give you the courage to honour this beautiful commitment. Thank you for giving me this privilege to dress you both for your wedding ceremony. A moment and memory I will cherish forever. Here's to your happiness and prosperity together." In an interview with the Bombay Times, Charu had shared her relationship with Sushmita, and how she used to impersonate her Miss Universe winning moment. She had said, "You won’t believe that I impersonated Sushmita Sen, when she was crowned Miss Universe, at a fancy dress competition in my school. I was very young then. I showed her the picture and she said that I looked adorable in it (smiles). Imagine the stroke of luck, she will be my sister-in-law soon. She told us to never sleep over a fight, and resolve our differences without any delay. Of course, like any other couple, Rajeev and I, too, have our share of fights, but we also resolve it in no time. He is very mature. We respect each other and we are good friends before anything else. Sushmita didi told me that jab aap bohot comfortable ho jaate ho kisi ke saath then you should know that he is the right guy for you. In my case, it’s Rajeev, because we are extremely comfortable with each other."
In the same interview, Charu had spilled the beans on her wedding, and had shared, "It will be an intimate affair with just 20-25 people each from our respective families in attendance. Our families had originally zeroed in on a date in December, but Rajeev, during a conversation with me, said that it’s too far. That’s how we advanced the date to June 16. Forget others, even our families were surprised to learn about our decision. We will have a reception in Mumbai depending on the availability of our families and friends."
She had further added, "I have always dreamt of having a white wedding. So, we plan to have a Christian-themed engagement and I will wear a white gown for it. The idea is to start with white — the colour stands for peace and purity — and then add colours to our functions and costumes, with us in red on our wedding day. We will be colour-coordinated for all our functions. While the pheras will happen according to Rajasthani and Bengali rituals, the theme for the wedding will be royal Rajasthani. I am in a shopping mode now. I haven’t taken up any new project, as I want to spend time with Rajeev after marriage."
