Raj Kundra is all set to make everyone's jaws drop with his acting debut in his biopic, UT 69. For the unversed, it was back on October 18, 2023, when Raj dropped the trailer of his biopic, which will track down the details of Raj's confinement days. For the unversed, Shilpa Shetty's hubby, Raj had to stay at the Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai for 63 days for his alleged involvement in an adult film racket case. However, soon after Raj dropped the trailer of his movie, a lot of netizens praised him for the same, while others claimed that the businessman had been trying to whitewash his images. And now, Raj reacted to the same.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Raj Kundra revealed if he is trying to whitewash his image with his biopic. The businessman-turned-actor shared that the trailer itself is proof that it's nothing like him trying to polish his image, which was ruined back in 2021. Giving an example, Raj said that he allowed the director to say bad about him in the movie, as the director himself read the notes that Raj had written while being inside the jail. Raj stated:
"I think the trailer shows that it's not a whitewash. Allowing the director to have so much bad said about me because he read the notes, he read everything that I wrote inside. I made a diary of each and everything that happened inside."

In the same interview, Raj Kundra walked down the memory lane and recalled an incident when he had to listen to the comments on his wifey, Shilpa Shetty, made by his jail inmates. He said while he was sitting inside the jail, one of the inmates even said that Shilpa was looking hot while some others pointed at him. Elaborating more on the same, Raj revealed:
"These things happen, when Shilpa is on TV, they're like, 'Arre she's looking damn h*t,' and somebody said, 'Arre uska pati yaha baitha hai chup kar'. So, I had to go through that. It was the class of life of the people around me, that's their understanding and thought. Unki samajh utne level tak hi hai. So, I was okay with it."
Going further in the interview, Raj Kundra talked about his upcoming movie, UT 69, which is slated to release on November 3, 2023. Raj said that he tried to show what exactly happened to him and what he had gone through while being with an interesting group of people inside the jail. He shared how it felt like to be a British citizen ending up in one of the worst overcrowded notorious jails, without having the least idea about the system. He also shared that when he had been writing notes during his jail stay, it felt like a black comedy, and he laughed at it back then and even today, too. Raj can be quoted as saying:
"I am showing you what has actually happened, what I went through. It was an interesting group of people. When you put a British citizen who's come from abroad and doesn't have an idea to understand how the system works and gets stuck in one of the worst overcrowded notorious jails. Humor aa hi jati hai. I laugh at it today, I laughed at it then too. When I wrote it, it felt like a black comedy there and then. I was writing notes and I was laughing to myself. It was a serious matter."

During the trailer launch event of his movie, UT 69, Raj Kundra told News18 that at first, his wifey was a bit dicey about the idea of him making a film on his jail stay. The businessman-turned-actor shared that when he told Shilpa about the same, a flying chappal came at his face; however, later, when the director of Raj's biopic, Shahnawaz Ali narrated the story to Shilpa, she gave it a thought and supported it throughout.
