'Lust Stories 3' Stars, Radhikka Madan And Vijay Varma React To Intimate Scene Leaks, 'Can't Force'

For those who don't know, Apte had reflected on being "scared" after her nude scenes from her 2016 film, Parched, were leaked online. And now, Varma and Madan have reflected the same sentiment, talking about how these films often add to the stress of being a performer.

Vijay Varma and Radhikka Madan, who star in Lust Stories 3, which boldly talks about human desire and sexuality, reflected on the issue of performing such sequences. In a candid conversation with News18, Madan admitted that such leaks are never in an actor's hands. She added that since they have no control over them, there's no point in thinking about them either.
In the same conversation, Radhikka Madan revealed that as an actor, one should be confident in the intent behind their work and the filmmaker's plan when they build a scene. She asserted that after that, an actor can only do their job and move on. For those who don't know, Madan filmed an intimate scene with Ali Fazal for Lust Stories 3.
Radhikka Madan admitted that she gets into such scenes while considering the risks involved. However, she also pointed out that people who have a dirty mind can't be dealt with. Madan shared that they cannot force someone to stop doing bad things or to stop leaking such clips. She was quoted as saying:
"Jinki nazrein kharab hain, unka hum kya kar sakte hain? We can’t barge into their homes and tell them to refrain from doing these things. You genuinely can’t do anything. When you do an intimate scene, you have to keep in mind that a leak is always a possibility. You go into it knowing that risk exists and also hope that it doesn’t happen."
Vijay Varma shared that he prefers to shut out what the audience might see or do while filming
On the other hand, Vijay Varma also reflected on his intimate scene with his then-girlfriend, Tamannaah Bhatia, in Sujoy Ghosh’s segment of Lust Stories 2. He recalled that the scene went viral at the time and was downloaded from multiple sites. During the conversation, he also shared how he shoots such scenes and manages to push the fear away.
Vijay Varma reflected on the scene they shot in Lust Stories 2 and shared that while they are filming, he shuts out what the audience will think and do. He admitted that they know that those scenes will most likely end up being viral. However, if he doesn't let go of those thoughts, he won't be able to work. He was quoted as saying:
"We need to be able to shut out the audience gaze while filming such scenes. We know that these clips are going to circulate a lot. That’s just the nature of how things work. There are some things you can’t change. Certain clips get floated around a lot more on all kinds of pages. But if I can’t let go of these thoughts, I won’t be able to do the work that I do, and I can’t be pushing boundaries as an actor."
Vijay Varma and Radhikka Madan's comments have come shortly after Radhika Apte opened up about her own experience shooting such scenes. In an interaction with India Today, Apte admitted that she felt extremely scared when her intimate scene clips were leaked online. She recalled how she couldn't step out of the house for four days straight after the video was leaked.
Radhika Apte further talked about how the leaked scenes can cause problems and even follow them home incredibly quickly. She shared that she soon realised that her watchman and driver had seen the clips too. She was quoted as saying:
"Your doorbell can ring, and somebody can be outside your house because they felt offended. So, it’s not that easy. It’s much more complicated. I remember my stylist telling me that her driver couldn’t stop looking at the clip and kept asking her, 'You’re going to her house?' My watchman had seen it as well. Things like that started happening, and it became very difficult to deal with.”

This time, acclaimed directors Vikramaditya Motwane, Kiran Rao, Shakun Batra, and Vishal Bhardwaj came together to tell four stories about love, desire, intimacy and modern relationships. Its stars are Vijay Varma, Radhikka Madan, Ali Fazal, Aditi Rao Hydari, Konkona Sen Sharma and others.
