Sometime back, amidst the photos and videos that went viral on the internet from the #AkuStoleTheShlo wedding, we got our hands on an unseen throwback picture of Radhika Merchant, from what looks like another bash she had attended. Dressed in a green-coloured saree and a blue embroidered blouse, Radhika accentuated her look with a heavy choker, maang teeka and open hair.
At Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal's sangeet in Udaipur, her younger brother Anant Ambani stole the limelight with his super-adorable dance performance with his alleged girlfriend, Radhika Merchant. Anant and Radhika danced on Koi Mil Gaya from Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, Rani Mukerji starrer film, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Radhika not only performed with her alleged love interest, Anant but also with his family including Nita-Mukesh Ambani, Isha Ambani-Anand Piramal and Akash Ambani-Shloka Mehta, in their group performance on the title track of Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
After Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani’s engagement last year, a picture of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant went viral on social media in May 2018, which added fuel to the conjectures of their engagement. But the Reliance spokesperson had dismissed such speculations and had told Business Today, "Anant Ambani is not engaged yet.” On the other hand, Nita Ambani had told Bombay Times earlier, “Mukesh and I have given a very strong foundation to our kids and even larger wings to fly - they have the freedom to take decisions for themselves and of course, choose whom they would want to spend the rest of their lives with. Marrying the one you love is gratifying and heart-warming.”
Radhika Merchant, the daughter of Viren Merchant, the CEO and Vice Chairman of Encore Healthcare, had worked as Sales Executive in 2017 at Isprava, a real estate firm that ‘creates dream holiday homes for those with the finest tastes’, post completing her graduate degree from the New York University, in Politics and Economics. Quite ambitious by nature, Radhika had shared her experience about working in the luxury space at an interview, “I had never given much thought to the concept of luxury while growing up. However, after joining Isprava, my idea of luxury has evolved. Earlier I was put off by the mentality behind luxury because I equated it with a large logo on a handbag or a specific pattern on a piece of fabric but after joining Isprava and understanding the brand's idea of luxury I have learnt to appreciate it. To us, luxury is the seamless process of buying a home and a hassle-free holiday experience."
