Ever since Desi Girl, Priyanka Chopra made it official with singer-songwriter, Nick Jonas in August 2018 after their roka ceremony, a lot has been said and written about their relationship. There has been a lot of chatter about how premature their relationship is as they dated for only a brief period and of course the 10-year age difference between PeeCee and Nick. In fact, a New York magazine even called Priyanka ‘a global scam artist' who forced Nick into a fraudulent relationship just to build her career in Hollywood. While everyone questioned their relationship and talked about ‘If Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ love for real?’, Priyanka and Nick were busy enjoying their married life. And their respective Instagram accounts have been proof of their PDA and endearment for each other, which made everyone believe that love is in the air for Priyanka and Nick. But some seemed to miss their Insta-PDA and a US-based magazine created a storm online when they had reported that Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Jonas are heading for divorce after four months of marriage.
The report had stated, "Priyanka and Nick have been fighting about everything be it work, partying, spending time together. The bottom line is that Nick and Priyanka rushed into things and now they’re paying the price. Their marriage is hanging by a thread. Nick has seen a controlling side to Priyanka which he clearly wasn’t aware of before tying the knot. Another thing of Priyanka which irks Nick is her temper issues."
The report had further quoted the source as saying, "There are whispers that Nick and Priyanka got married so quickly they didn’t take the time to draw up a prenup." And soon a source close to the newly-weds rubbished the report and had said, "These are all cooked-up stories just to create an unnecessary stir and sell copies. Priyanka and Nick are happily married, but it’s saddening to see how people are targeting the couple ever since they tied the knot. And if it was an April Fool’s prank, it was a terrible one for sure."
And now, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas have decided to sue the magazine for writing such a fake and insensitive piece. Priyanka's representative had said, "Once she makes up her mind to deal with negative rumour-mongering, nothing can stop her. Priyanka will let loose her legal team on this news-manufacturing tabloid and ensure they get to their knees." Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Nick Jonas’ divorce report also stated that the Jonas family have raised concern about Priyanka’s lifestyle and behaviour. And they are begging Nick to end this marriage as they initially thought their daughter-in-law to be mature and ‘ready to settle down’ type, but instead, she behaves like a 21-year-old! As far as Nick Jonas himself is concerned, the source had further added, “Nick’s seen a controlling side to her. She also has a temper – that’s something Nick wasn’t aware of until after the wedding celebrations.”
In February 2019, some of the pictures from the New York Fashion Week went viral on social media, wherein Priyanka Chopra Jonas looked beautiful in a checkered Michael Kors dress. But what caught everyone’s attention was a probable baby bump that looked quite evident in those pictures. Soon it led to the pregnancy rumours and reports of Priyanka and Nick expecting their first child made it to the headlines.
But Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ mother, Madhu Chopra had dismissed all pregnancy rumours and shared with Mid-Day, “It was a bad angle. The outfit was nice. She looked like that only in some pictures, the rest were fine. Blame it on the camera angle!" A few days later, Priyanka was spotted visiting the hospital with her mother, which further ignited the pregnancy speculations. When asked Madhu Chopra about the same, the star mommy retorted to SpotboyE, “We had gone there to see a very unwell relative.” In an interview, Madhu ji had also shared how her star daughter had reacted to the pregnancy rumours, “When I spoke to Priyanka on the phone, she told me that she was tired and hence, had a slumped posture.
