However, for a few days, there were some tensions between Priyanka and her brother-in-law, Joe Jonas' ex-wife, Sophie Turner's relationship. Time and again, Priyanka showed her sisterly bond with Sophie. But a few days after Joe and Sophie's on September 6, 2023, it was reported that the Priyanka and her ex-sister-in-law unfollowed each other on their respective social media platforms.
Now, as per a new report in Life & Style, we got to know about certain details about the moment just before Sophie Turner and Priyanka Chopra unfollowed each other. A source close to them, revealed to the portal that the duo onetime sisters-in-law confided in one another and even called each other 'sissy' before unfollowing on Instagram. However, Priyanka thought of keeping her allegiance with her husband, Nick Jonas and his brother, Joe Jonas. The source said:
“They used to be so close. They confided in each other, called each other sissy, and now Priyanka’s allegiance lies with Joe and husband Nick.”

While Sophie and Priyanka unfollowed each other, the former continues to follow Joe Jonas, Kevin Jonas and his wife, Danielle Jonas. Thus, another source mentioned to the same portal that her divorce from Joe forced Sophie to cut people from her life. The source can be heard adding:
“Divorcing Joe has forced Sophie to cut people out of her life.”
Talking about Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's divorce, they were keeping things low-key until the latter sued the former for forcefully restraining their daughters, 3-year-old Willa and 15-year-old Delphine, from returning home with her. This again angered Joe, and he thought Sophie's move was a wrongful attempt to tarnish his image as a horrible father. According to a report in the Daily Mail, a source closer to Joe revealed the pop singer was mad at Sophie’s actions and even warned about things getting messier if she wouldn’t solve them amicably.

A little before Joe and Sophie’s marriage, Priyanka once opened up about her then-would-be sister-in-law. Priyanka not only praised Sophie for her incredible work but also called her a sister from a different mothers. In an interview with Elle in 2019, she was heard revealing:
“I’ve never had a sister, so it’s really nice to have Danielle and Sophie, and just inheriting the family by proxy. Sophie is super talented, super funny and we have the most fun when we go out together. She’s incredible. By the time this comes out, she’ll be the new Mrs. Jonas. I can’t wait for her to join the family.”
