Recently, Narottam Mishra opened up about the development of Datia city in Madhya Pradesh and mentioned that even the Hema Malini had danced there. On October 26, 2023, Digvijaya Singh posted a video on X (formerly called Twitter) wherein Narottam Mishra spoke about the same. In the video, Narottam can be heard saying:
"Mere Datia ne udaan bhari toh sanskritik karyakram se lekar Hema Malini tak ko nachwa diya (My Datia started flying, even Hama Malini was made to dance).”

As soon as the video featuring Narottam Mishra's statement on Hema Malini surfaced on the internet, it created a huge media roar. MP and Congress leader, Digvijaya Singh also reshared the video and commented that Narottam Mishra does not even spare the MP of his own party after the home minister referred to Hema Malini in a speech. Moreover, many netizens slammed Narottam for his comment. Not only this, once again, it began the series of political blame games in the posts' comment section.
Now, in a conversation with the ETimes, Hema Malini reacted to Narottam Mishra's comment about making her dance. She said:
"I have already spoken to my seniors about it and they are looking into it."
