The end of November marks the beginning of the wedding celebrations of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas. Hardly a week is left for the lovebirds to become each other’s forever in elaborate celebrations of traditional Hindu and Christian weddings in Jodhpur. The Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur will be lit as two beautiful souls will say ‘I do’ to each other on December 01 and 02, 2018, respectively. But before the pre-wedding festivities kickstart in Jodhpur, Priyanka and Nick will perform a puja on November 28, 2018. As per a Filmfare report, a source close to the couple shared, "Priyanka and Nick are very excited for their wedding celebrations and just before they begin mehendi and other ceremonies, they will have a small pooja for everything to start on a good note. Other than their Mumbai reception, they will also be hosting a wedding reception in Delhi for Priyanka’s relatives."
The venue where the sangeet was supposed to take place was earlier reported to be Mehrangarh Fort. But as per the latest reports, the sangeet, as well as the other functions, will now take place at the Umaid Bhawan Palace. As per the sources, Priyanka wanted police protection to travel from Umaid Bhawan Palace to Mehrangarh Fort and she even hired a private security agency for the same. But the Jodhpur police refused to provide them protection citing the upcoming assembly elections in Rajasthan. An official from Mehrangarh Fort has also confirmed that the booking has got cancelled.
After celebrating her bridal shower and bachelorette parties, Priyanka Chopra returned to India to complete her work commitments and wrap up the Delhi schedule of Shonali Bose’s The Sky Is Pink. Then she was joined by the dulhe raja, Nick who celebrating Thanksgiving with his ‘loved one’. The #LadkeWalas and #LadkiWalas are all excited to set the mood right and they have arrived in Mumbai to begin the celebrations.
Nick Jonas’ brother, Joe Jonas and his fiancée, Sophie Turner arrived in Mumbai on November 26, 2018. And Priyanka and Nick hosted a dinner at a restaurant in Juhu. Joe and Sophie along with Priyanka’s sister, Parineeti Chopra and close friend, Alia Bhatt were also spotted while entering the venue. While the bride-to-be Priyanka looked stunning in a golden dress, the to-be groom Nick looked dapper in his casual avatar. Soon after their dinner, Nick posted a picture with the ladkiwalas and baaratis as his Instagram story and wrote ‘Mumbai Nights’ atop of it.
At the Lux Golden Rose Award, Alia Bhatt shared her excitement to see Priyanka in her bridal avatar. She had stated, “I am very happy and excited. I am very excited to see PC in her wedding attire. I am very fond of her and I have a lot of love and warmth for her." When Priyanka Chopra’s mother, Madhu Chopra was asked about the venue of her daughter’s destination wedding, she was quoted as saying, “Mera bahut pasandida shehar hai. Saari duniya chhodkar hum yahaan aaye hain. (This city is my favourite. We left aside the whole world to come to this place).” Speaking about the wedding preparations, she added, “Ab shaadi dekh lena. Abhi se kya bataaun. Jab ho jaaye, tab baat karenge (You will see it when it happens. What do I say about it now? We will talk when it happens) (sic).”
According to a Mid-Day report, a source remarked, “While the bridal trousseau will be an Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla creation, she will sport a Ralph Lauren ensemble for the Christian wedding. The couple will exchange Tiffany wedding bands.” The source also added that in the guest list, many Hollywood names are expected, “Though Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, may not make it, many Hollywood names are expected. Since it will be their first brush with an Indian wedding, Priyanka wants to make it special.”
Let us conclude with the details about the pre-wedding functions of Priyanka and Nick. On November 29, 2018, the mehendi ceremony will take place at the Umaid Bhawan, followed by the sangeet ceremony. Later, on December 1, 2018, the haldi ceremony will be followed by a cocktail night for the friends and family. And on December 2-3, 2018, Priyanka and Nick will exchange wedding vows.
