Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas were pronounced husband and wife after their Christian white wedding on December 01, 2018 at the famous Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur. The pre-wedding festivities kickstarted with an auspicious puja at their Mumbai residence which were later followed by mehendi, sangeet and haldi ceremonies in Jodhpur. Priyanka and Nick delighted their fans with the official photographs from their colourful mehendi ceremony, and it looked straight out of fairy tale. Now, PeeCee shared a series of stunning photos from their sangeet ceremony and our desi girl rounded off her sangeet-special album with a video, which has glimpses of the groom Nick performing with his family and other highlights from the function.
Priyanka revealed how much fun teams #Ladkewalas and #Ladkiwalas had on their sangeet in her caption, "It all began as a fierce song and dance competition between the families but ended, as always, as a huge celebration of love. Nick and I were looking forward to the sangeet (musical evening), another pre wedding ritual.. and to see what each side had put together. And what a performance it was. Each family telling our stories through song and dance, filled with lots of laughter and love. We were both filled with gratitude for the effort, the love and the laughter and will carry the memories of this special evening for the rest of our lives. It is an amazing start to a lifetime of togetherness for our families and friends."
Designer Ralph Lauren confirmed Priyanka and Nick’s white wedding and congratulated the wedding by saying, "Congratulations to @PriyankaChopra and @NickJonas on the occasion of their wedding in Jodhpur, India, this weekend. Ralph Lauren is honoured to have dressed the couple – Priyanka in a custom Ralph Lauren gown and Nick in a custom Purple Label tuxedo – as well as the members of their wedding party.”
Sharing her mehendi ceremony pictures, Priyanka and Nick on their respective social media handles, “One of the most special things that our relationship has given us is a merging of families who love and respect each other’s faiths and cultures. And so planning our wedding with an amalgamation of both was so so amazing. An important part for the girl in an Indian wedding is the Mehendi. On Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla's official Instagram handle, the designer duo described the bride and groom's outfits in the caption, and wrote, "CELEBRATIONS BEGIN @priyankachopra is a vision in a fabulously folksy, multi-hued organdy ensemble, inspired by a vintage AJSK collection at her Mehndi, teamed with heirloom jewellery designed by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla by @sabooatajsk @nickjonas looks dashing in our aqua bakhiya kurta".
In a throwback interview, Nick revealed how he met Priyanka and fell in love with her. He was quoted as saying, “We met through a friend. We got connected first over text and we started talking for a while. It was about six months before we met up in person. We actually attended the MET Gala, a few years ago together and had a great time. We were just friends and our lives were taking us to different places.”
In another interview, Nick had revealed what made him fall for Priyanka and he said, “So many things. I could go into all of it and get all mushy but, I think the thing that really connected both of us is our love for family and faith and the importance of being connected to those who are always going to be there for you. We found that in each other as well, which is a beautiful thing.
