Plus-Size Bride Wore A Priyanka Chopra-Inspired Red 'Lehenga' For Her 'Sangeet' Ceremony

No matter how much we say, size doesn't matter, it does, especially when you are a woman about to tie the knot. We have heard many stories of brides-to-be settling for less as the designer denied to entertain them because of their body shape. There are times when aunties and relatives give their free advice on how it is time for the bride-to-be to hit the gym. While staying fit is always appreciated, shaming someone for not being a particular size should strongly be discouraged.

Nowadays, plus-size brides are following their hearts and embracing their body type like a fashionista. We have seen many plus-size brides donning pastels to outrageous red ensembles for their wedding day. And our bride of the week is no different, in fact, she left us speechless with her unique choice of outfits for her wedding festivities.

Meet our bride of the week, Aishwarya, who got married to the love of her life, Kiran in an intimate ceremony. For the sangeet-cum-mehendi, the bride had donned a gorgeous red lehenga. However, it reminded us of Priyanka Chopra's gorgeous Sabyasachi Mukherjee's red lehenga with thread-work embroidery, which she had donned for her Hindu wedding.

However, our bride was looking gorgeous in the twisted version. She had made sure to opt for sheer bell-sleeves to accentuate her look. She had styled her look with floral jewellery. Subtle makeup and half-tied hair had completed her look. On the other hand, her groom had donned a black bandhgala sherwani.

In India, there are very limited options, when it comes to a plus-size bride. They are judged for their body type, and there are certain colours, which they are advised not to wear, and yellow is one of them. However, our bride of the week debunked all the societal notions and followed her heart. For her haldi ceremony, the bride wore a beautiful yellow saree with a pink blouse.

The bride donned a purple-hued saree for wedding day

For the wedding day, the bride had picked a purple-hued paithani saree with golden boti-work on it. To add more charm to her look, she had styled it with a golden dupatta. Her look was completed with a pair of earrings, a minimalist maang teeka, a neckpiece, a brahmi nath and a crescent moon bindi. On the other hand, her groom had worn a cream-coloured sherwani with a purple-hued turban.
