Cillian Murphy explained that even though he is not a fan of that hairstyle, he is overwhelmed by the response of the audience. For the unversed, the iconic hairstyle became a global phenomenon. He was quoted as saying:

"No, no, it’s really humbling. It’s amazing to think it’s become such a phenomenon. People all over the world — in Buenos Aires, Turkey, Mexico and everywhere — watch the show."
