Days after Lindsay Clancy's closely watched triple-murder case ended in a mistrial, her ex-husband, Patrick Clancy, has decided to speak up about his experience. Patrick, who publicly defended Lindsay in court for allegedly killing their three children, has now moved on with his new wife, Dr. Rachel Danis.

In a preview of his upcoming 60 Minutes interview alongside Rachel, Patrick shared that he still talks to his children, who died in January 2023 while he was briefly out of the house for errands. When asked what he says to them, his answer was brief but emotional.

Interest in Patrick Clancy and his new wife's first on-camera appearance has already grown, with preview clips revealing emotional moments from the bereaved father. The interview offers a rare glimpse into how he continues to navigate life after the deaths of his children. Patrick's comments also reveal the role he feels that connection still plays in his life.

In his interview with CBS correspondent Ross Douthat, Patrick Clancy opened up about how he continues to feel connected to his three children, Cora, Dawson and Callan. "I talk to them," he shared. Regarding what he says to them, Patrick replied, "Help me... All the time." When Douthat asked if he believes they respond, Patrick said, "I like to believe they do," adding that talking to them is "a way I stay connected to them."

Patrick has not been charged in connection with the children's deaths. His attorney, as well as Lindsay Clancy's defense lawyer Kevin Reddington, has pushed back against rumors implicating him. After the case ended in a mistrial, Reddington publicly refuted the "conspiracy to kill" theory, saying:

"Stop with the speculation and horrific conspiracy allegations that he was involved with some massive conspiracy to kill his children. It's horrific what this man has been going through, and he's entitled to move on with his life... Patrick was a man who stood by his wife through all of this difficulty, of the medical issues, the psychiatric issues, the pharmaceutical issues... And the fact that he's moved on with his life and still is standing by Lindsay, as far as the legal issues go, tells the tale."

Why did Lindsay Clancy's case end in mistrial?

Lindsay Clancy, Patrick's former wife, was charged in the January 2023 deaths of their three children in Duxbury, Massachusetts. The children were Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months old. Lindsay's defense argued that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and was not criminally responsible. Prosecutors argued that she was responsible for the killings.

The trial ended on September 4, 2026, after jurors remained deadlocked despite extensive deliberations. The 12-person jury deliberated for approximately 38 hours over seven days before Judge William Sullivan declared a mistrial. Reddington says he now plans to seek dismissal of the case. He intends to file a motion to dismiss on double jeopardy grounds at a September 29, 2026 hearing. Lindsay remains in custody at Tewksbury Hospital and is on a 24/7 suicide watch.

Patrick has since remarried and lives in New York with Dr. Danis. Their joint appearance on 60 Minutes is expected to address his life after the tragedy and the public scrutiny surrounding the case. Danis is also expected to share her side after being constantly scrutinized for her involvement with Patrick.

Patrick and Rachel's full interview is scheduled to air Sunday, September 20, 2026, on 60 Minutes. It marks the first time they have spoken publicly together.
