Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal are engaged now. This weekend, Anand went down on his knees with an engagement ring in his hand and proposed Isha. And two days later, the Ambanis hosted a grand engagement party which was attended by many stars and whos who of Mumbai. From biggies like Sachin Tendulkar to Karan Johar, Shah Rukh Khan with wife Gauri Khan, Ranbir Kapoor with his best friend Ayan Mukerji, and many other celebs attended Isha Ambani’s engagement party. Couple’s parents- Nita Ambani, Mukesh Ambani, Swati Piramal and Ajay Piramal, were all present on the occasion.
The catchiest part of the engagement party was Nita Ambani’s dance moves! Yes, her thumkas and jhatkas were so perfect that it’s hard to believe that she is 54 years old. In one of the videos, which has gone viral on social media, Nita Ambani can be seen dancing along with her daughter, Isha Ambani on the song, Nachde Ne Saare. And it’s pure mother-daughter goals! In another video, she danced to Late actress Sridevi’s song Navrai Majhi. While she kept dancing alone, her hubby, Mukesh Ambani could be seen clapping from behind, standing by the stage. The Ambanis and Piramals have known each other for more than 40 years now, and Anand and Isha have been long-time friends. Last weekend, in Mahabaleshwar, Anand Piramal went down on his knees, proposed Isha Ambani and slipped in an engagement ring in her finger.
Post the proposal, the families went on a family lunch to celebrate. The next day, Ambanis and Piramals went to the famous Siddhivinayak Temple. It’s been a long family tradition that whenever the Ambanis start anything and venture into a new enterprise, they visit the holy temple. Both Isha and Anand are well educated. While Isha is a graduate in psychology and South Asian studies from Yale University, Anand holds an MBA from Harvard University. On professional fronts, Isha is currently on the boards of Reliance Jio and Reliance Retail, and Anand is the executive director of the Piramal Group and is the founder of its real estate business, Piramal Realty.
Earlier this year, Isha’s twin brother, Akash Ambani also engaged to Shloka Mehta. Shloka is the daughter of Russell Mehta and Mona Mehta. Russell is a diamond doyen who owns Rosy Blue.
Now that the twin siblings are engaged, we can’t wait more for Isha and Anand, and Akash and Shloka to be pronounced husbands and wives.
