Television actress, Nishi Singh, whois well-known for her stint in several TV shows, including the likes of Hitler Didi, Qubool Hai, Ishqbaaaz, and Tenali Rama, passed away on September 18, 2022. She was battling serious health issues from last two years and died two days after celebrating her 50th birthday. She is survived by her husband, writer-actor Sanjay Singh Bhadli, and two children, a 21-year-old son and a 18-year-old daughter.
Nishi Singh's demise is a huge loss for the television industry, and her industry friends have been pouring condolence messages for her family. Now, in a recent interview, her hubby, Sanjay Singh opened up about her last days and talked about how the family suffered from financial crisis while trying to meet the medical expenses. He also revealed that the late actress was suffering from deteriorating health, but she fought to survive.

In an interview with the ETimes, Nishi Singh's husband, Sanjay Singh Bhadli, recalled her last days and talked about how her health was deteriorating. He revealed that the late actress had suffered three strokes within almost two years. However, he added that the last few weeks were extremely different for her as she had suffered from a severe throat infection. Revealing that Nishi had celebrated her 50th birthday two days before her death, Sanjay said:
“After she suffered the second stroke on February 3 (a year after the first stroke), she started showing signs of recovery. However, she suffered another one in May 2022 and her health started deteriorating. We admitted her to the hospital and she was discharged later. Last few weeks, she found it difficult to eat because of a severe throat infection. She stopped eating solid food and we could only feed her liquids. The biggest irony is that we celebrated her 50th birthday the day before yesterday (September 16). Though she couldn’t talk, she seemed very happy. I requested her to eat her favourite besan ka laddoo and she did.”
Further in the interview, Sanjay said that Nishi passed away around 3pm on September 18, 2022, and mentioned that she complained of uneasiness and had to be rushed to the hospital. He broke down as he shared that Nishi had been with him for the last 32 years, and now, she left him and their two children alone. Talking about how their daughter skipped her board exams to take care of her ailing mother, Sanjay stated:
“She fought hard to survive. She passed away around 3 pm. Sabse badi takleef toh yahi hai ki 32 saal tak saath rahi (breaks down). Even though she was unwell, she was with me. Now, I don’t have anyone to call family other than our two children (21-year-old son and 18-year-old daughter). My daughter also quit her studies and skipped her board exams to take care of her mother with me. Aadmi jab haarta hai toh harr taraf se haarta hai.”

The doting husband also shared that his family had sought financial help two years ago, as Nishi's medical expenses were increasing. Moreover, he stated that they received financial aid from some of their industry friends, but he still had to sell his house and car to meet the expenses. Sanjay concluded:
“I couldn’t take up any work, as she needed me by her side throughout. A few of my friends and industry people like Ramesh Taurani, Gul Khan, Surbhi Chandna, and CINTAA helped us monetarily. However, I still had to sell my house and car in March to take care of the expenses. Ab toh sab khatam ho gaya.”
