On May 10, 2018, Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi surprised the world with their hush-hush wedding and a few months later, in August, the lovebirds revealed that they are expecting their first child. Neha and Angad’s decision to get married in a hush-hush wedding triggered the conjectures of Neha’s pregnancy. But the couple initially refuted the reports and said that at the right time, they’ll make an announcement. And now finally, on November 18, 2018, Neha and Angad were blessed with a baby girl who arrived in this world around 11 am at Womens Hospital, Khar. Neha and Angad have taken to their Instagram handle to reveal the first glimpse of their baby girl and her name. Neha and Angad have named their little angel, Mehr Dhupia Bedi. Neha posted the following pic and captioned it as, "Mehr Dhupia Bedi says hello to the world..." Angad too shared the same picture, and wrote, " Waheguru MEHR Kare @nehadhupia " Isn’t it a beautiful name? Mehr is a Persian name and it means blessing!
On November 20, 2018, Angad too tweeted about his lovely wife and the little angel, and said, “The last two days have been very overwhelming. @NehaDhupia and me have been blessed with a beautiful baby girl. Thank you all for your wishes and love that is coming our way. Both my girls are doing really well...”
In an earlier interview, when Neha was asked if they have zeroed down on any name for their baby, Neha shared, “We have yet not decided what will be naming our baby. We don't know and even the gifts we are receiving has 'baby' written on them, so ya, we haven't thought about it yet”. Neha also revealed that she is not thinking too much about motherhood and is going to take it as it comes, “For now I am only thinking about diaper changing and feeding the child”. Talking about another important issue, of breastfeeding, the 38-year-old actress was quoted as saying, “I will do what is healthy for the baby and mother.”
Neha had been on her toes during her pregnancy, about which she had stated, “There are days when I am tired but I have an amazing team who take care of things for me and make it all simple. There are very few days when I have not worked or stayed in bed. In fact, Angad and others think there's something wrong when I am not working." Earlier, Neha and Angad announced the latter’s pregnancy and that they are going to be parents soon. Neha took to her Instagram handle and shared, “Here’s to new beginnings #3ofUs #satnamwaheguru”, and Angad, on the other hand, wrote, “Ha! Turns out this rumor is true. #satnamwaheguru”. After announcing that they are expecting their first child, Neha revealed in an interview why they had kept her pregnancy news under the wraps all this while. Neha stated, “I was worried people would stop offering work. It was a good thing my bump wasn’t showing till the sixth month because appearances matter here, and one might be assumed to be unfit for a job. Fortunately, my energy levels are high.”
Revealing their intimate and secret wedding, Neha and Angad released a joint statement to share the happy news. The statement could be read as, “Marrying your best friend is one of the greatest feelings in the world, and we are extremely fortunate to have found love in each other. It has been a beautiful journey knowing each other and after formalizing the wedding earlier this year, today, we exchanged our vows in a beautifully simple, private and intimate Anand Karaj ceremony in Delhi. We look forward to celebrating and sharing this special moment with our friends and colleagues in Mumbai in the next couple of weeks. Thank you for showering us with so much love.
