Neena is an intelligent and attractive woman with more talent in her little finger than anyone else. With her charm, it is natural for people to get attracted to her. Her first affair, however short, was with Alok Nath. The two met in the 1980s for the shoot of a TV series. As we all know, it did not work out and the two walked in separate directions.

Shaarangdev, the son of the popular Indian classical vocalist Pandit Jasraj, the next man in Neena's life played a major role, both in loving and breaking her heart. The two worked together and fell in love. They both were engaged to be married when Neena met her worst nightmare. While Neena was irrevocably in love, Shaarangdev called off the wedding. This was a very tough time for Neena.
In the late 1980s, the West Indian cricket team landed in India for some cricket matches. The team was guided by Captain Vivian Richard. Richard had an image of being a casanova. He was married at that time and had two children, but it was also speculated that he had separated from his wife and was living with his girlfriend.
Though nobody knows for sure, it is believed that Neena and Richard met at a party in Mumbai. The passion between the two was brimming and within a few months, Neena was spotted with a baby bump. Throwing light on her situation then, Neena said:
"My friends told me don’t do this, but I was young and had the nasha, so did it. I feel it was very tough for me and I did my best."

Neena knew well that marriage with Richards was not possible, but against the wishes of her friends and family, she went ahead with her pregnancy to give birth to her love child, Masaba Gupta. Standing by her decisions, Neena uttered:
"Yes, I do have regrets in my life. Instead of what I did earlier, I should have got married at the right age and should have got children. Instead, my life started taking twists and turns and in most of the cases, it was beyond my control. Yes, I had certain choices to make to amend my mistakes but I know that when it came to making a decision, a choice — I always made the right choice."

Neena has always asserted that she wasn't keen on getting married but as her daughter grew up, she started feeling lonely. Her bouts of loneliness made her rethink about his ideologies. It was in 2002 when 43-year-old Neena met a Delhi-based Chartered Accountant, Vivek Mishra, on a flight and the two hit of instantly. Vivek had separated from his wife and was a little apprehensive, at first, about telling Neena the same.
Vivek and Neena were in a relationship for over 6 years before the two finally tied the knot. Vivek's divorce finalised in 2008. In July 2008, Neena left with Vivek to attend one of his relative's wedding in the US. Little did Neena know that this trip would change her life forever. Vivek proposed to Neena in the US and the two got married then and there. Vivek had already planned the entire thing on his own. All he needed was a "yes" from Neena.
Neena's growth as a woman, a mother and a hopeless romantic has been marvellous. It is her journey that gives many other women the hope that one day, they too, will find the love of their life who will hold their hand through the thick and thin.
