Nancy Guthrie's Kidnapping Case Update: FBI To Analyse Blood Traces Found Near Her House For DNA

Nancy Guthrie has been missing since February 1, 2026. Her family noticed something fishy, after Nancy failed to appear in Church. It is worth mentioning that it has been more than two months that Nancy has been missing and her daughter, Savannah Guthrie is living a difficult life because of the same. Amid that, the experts are now testing the traces of blood which were found outside her house for DNA.

What happened to Nancy Guthrie?

For those who do not know, Nancy Guthrie was last seen on January 31, 2026, at her home in Arizona. The next day, on February 1, 2026, she was supposed to attend a church; however, when she didn't show up, her family tried to check on her, and it was eventually revealed that she had been kidnapped. Savannah Guthrie once shared that it was her sister, who informed the former about Nancy.

Soon, a police investigation began and within a few days, they discovered a few clues in the kidnapping case. According to the doorbell CCTV footage, a masked man was caught outside Nancy's house. Later traces of blood were found near her entrance. Some reports also claim that Nancy was kidnapped at midnight and she was allegedly without shoes and medicines. It is worth noting that in the past two months, no one has been arrested till now.

FBI to test blood traces for DNA sample to get clues in Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping

Recently, a report claims that the FBI (Federal Bureau Investigation) is testing the traces of blood which were found outside Nancy Guthrie's house. Reportedly, the sample has been sent to the FBI from a private lab. Since the blood contains DNA of more than one person, experts have stepped in to analyse it. Some reports also claim that experts might take nearly six months for the entire process.

When Savannah Guthrie got emotional about Nancy’s kidnapping

A few days ago, Savannah Guthrie sat down for a candid conversation with Hoda Kotb, during which she opened up about her mother, Nancy’s missing case. This was Savannah’s first interview after the entire incident. During the candid chat, Savannah broke down into tears and stated that she feels it is her fame that brought some danger to her mother. Savannah Guthrie was quoted as saying:

"To think that I brought this to her bedside, that it's because of me? Can I just say, I'm so sorry, Mommy. I'm sorry to my sister and my brother and my kids and my nephew and Tommy, my brother-in-law. I'm just so sorry. I'm so sorry. If it is me, I'm so sorry."

Former FBI agent analysed Nancy Guthrie’s kidnapping case

A few days ago, a former FBI agent named Jennifer Coffindaffer took to her X (formerly Twitter) handle to share her analysis in Nancy's kidnapping case. She penned a long note, in which she revealed that it was believed that Nancy was kidnapped for ransom; however, she now thinks that the 84-year-old woman might have died. Her note could be read as:

"Nancy Guthrie. LE said they know the motive for the abduction of Nancy and they have known it from the beginning. Abduction 2/1. Ransom note to local media 2/2. Ransom note to TMZ 2/3. Kidnapping for Ransom. Nancy sadly died. The kidnappers didn't care and tortured the family with 2 notes knowing the FBI would not recommend paying a ransom without proof of life. Like most cases, this one is simple, but everyone wants to make it complex. Occam's Razer. Even the Guthrie family knows."
