Is Nancy Guthrie's Kidnapper Familiar To Police? Former Prosecutor Says, 'I Will Bet My Dollar..'

After more than two months of Nancy Guthrie's disappearance from her Arizona home, her family and friends are still wondering what happened to her. Investigators are trying to find answers about her whereabouts. But there is no suspect named in the case so far. However, now a former prosecutor has made a claim that might reshape the case.

Is Nancy Guthrie's Kidnapper familiar with the police?

According to former Orange County prosecutor, Matt Murphy, the person who possibly kidnapped Nancy might not be a stranger to the police. He shared his views on Prof Jo Explains' YouTube challenge and suggested that the culprit might be someone already known to the authorities. Based on his years of experience, Matt explained that cases like Nancy's often involve repeat offenders with prior criminal histories. In his words:

"I will bet my bottom dollar that this guy, whoever he is, turns out to be a known dude in the jail of Pima County."

Matt Murphy further explained that drawing a clue from Nancy Guthrie's case, the abductor possibly has a familiarity with commiting similar crime. In fact, it seems to be someone who has been through the system before rather than being a new offender. Matt described that the suspect might have built their career through crime, including multiple arrests and releases under legal programs. Furthermore, he suggested that people with similar backgrounds often reappear in serious crimes, especially if their previous crimes go unchecked.

Matt also pointed out that in many abduction cases, like Nancy's, the perpetrator is now unknown. Although it might be difficult to connect the dots initially. So, the best way is to check law enforcement databases and prior arrest records, which could include key clues about his behaviour. Sharing his views, he said:

"I will bet my bottom dollar that this guy, whoever he is, turns out to be a known dude in the jail of Pima County. And I would not be at all surprised … if this guy hasn't been a frequent flyer and released on some ridiculous social justice program. I would not be at all surprised to see it."

How has Chris Nanos managed the investigation?

On the other hand, Matt Murphy raised questions over the investigation so far by Chris Nanos and his team. He said he had not yet found the suspect. Matt is confident that the suspect is already known within the local law enforcement circles. Moreover, he suggested that if the suspect turns out to be a repeat offender, authorities have missed multiple opportunities to find him already.

Matt highlighted that there might be gaps in recognition or coordination, which are delaying the process. Meanwhile, reporter, Brian Entin shares new insights into the crime. He noted that there were reportedly no signs of forced entry, schedule or any other sign that might have explained what happened. Instead, the crime scene was clean and the DNA evidence collected from the crime scene has not matched or confirmed any suspects hinting that the kidnapper is someone experienced.
